  1. He’s going to excel there. $50 charity bet Jeff Skinner outscores our leading scorer.
  2. Utah has a great owner and front office.
  3. That’s his game. You love him on your team, but he’s annoying as ***** to play against. I don’t know many Sabres fans who liked him before he came here.
  4. I think they’re all big boys and won’t be broken. I think you’re absolutely right Adams and Ruff probably talked to them about it as well. There’s probably a tinge of disappointment in there air though, just like here.
  5. I agree with this and I know everyone’s spent their time on both the optimistic and pessimistic side of the coin over the last 13 years. Simply as a whole, the people who are on the pessimistic side have been right. Lots of people who are angry now were loving the winning streak of the Eichel team, while the negatives said it wasn’t sustainable. We’ve all been wrong. It just happens that we’re wrong when we’re positive.
  6. I don’t think of it from a club getting disrupted. I think that as hockey players, they understand who Skinner is as a player, and because of that (or in spite of that), they like him a lot on a personal level. I know everyone’s experience in sports is different, but I know from my own experience if there’s a player who the team doesn’t like on the ice or field, they don’t like him off of it either. I imagine one of the first thoughts all of the roster had was “if we’re losing Jeff, we must have something big brewing.” And I’m sure one of their first thoughts after today was “I can’t believe we lost Skinner without bringing anyone in for him.” It’s not about the club. I bet the players think Skinner makes the team better. It sends a bad message to those guys. They know the bottom 6 is improved, but they lost their boy to save a couple bucks.
  7. I, too, like Krebs. There’s more of us than you would think!
  8. Joke organization. Look at all his suitors lining up! He’s not a quality NHL player. Hasn’t been in this decade.
  9. I can’t believe this organization thinks trading one of the most well liked goal scorers off of a young team and then not replace his production sends a good message through the organization. Seriously. Imagine how ***** dejecting it would be to lose not only one of your team’s top goalscorers, but also one of the guys you really like on the team. I bet when guys on the rosters saw the buyout they got excited because no way would they get rid of Jeff without replacing him. I can promise you every single Sabres player understands Skinners flaws. I would also bet dollars to donuts they’d rather have him than nothing.
  10. I’m always fascinated by the pushback some posters get around here for being disappointed or for not being sold on the team/front office/media. The angry people have been right for a decade plus now.
  11. I like your optimism!
  12. It saves Terry a buck, why would he regret it?
  13. We are a better hockey team in that we should be more well-rounded and have moved on from Zemgus, KO, and Skinner. Whether adding speed and toughness motivates the straw stirrers to success is another question. I just don’t trust our top 6.
  14. Well yeah having four guys out there should help, Joe!
  15. People will point to this money spent as proof Pegula is willing to spend to win. That’s worth a hand wring.
  16. You’re not wrong, but I’m not here today for rational discourse.
  17. There will be plenty who believe it. There’s been plenty every year.
  18. Overpay an impact player by $3m, not a bottom 6. This just makes you look stupid. He hasn’t even made up what he saved by cutting Skinner. He hasn’t proved *****.
  19. lol what a ***** joke. He’s a good fourth liner on a playoff team.
  20. Don’t worry, I’ll be out of here again soon enough.
  21. I’ll be surprised if Zemgus is in the league next season. It better be an upgrade.
  22. Crazy we had $11m more cap space than that.
