Choosing between playing college hockey in Michigan and AHL hockey in Manitoba seems like an easy decision to me. If you can’t convince a prospect there’s room for them in the organization maybe the organization is the problem. I guess I don’t understand the difference between entitlement and operating in one’s best interest. At the end of the day, no matter how much they try to hid it, the NHL and their teams are big business who already restrict wages and opportunities.

He’ll be a free agent once he’s finished with school and will be highly sought after or essentially signed with a team a la Adam Fox (also a holdout and not a #1). I will never have any issue with someone wanting to go to college for four years and then take control over their career. Seems like the smarter option for the overwhelming majority of prospects and a trend that’s going to continue to grow as more Canadians take the NCAA route.

If the goal is to wear down opponents with a quicker and more tenacious bottom six so our top six can use their high end transition ability to score goals then this might work. If we’re just a collection of parts it won’t matter.

Can McLeod realistically challenge Cozens for 2C? That seems like a low opinion of Cozens or a high opinion of McLeod.

The first article I read said McLeod was a UFA. I’ve seen multiple posts now say RFA. Can anyone confirm what it is?

She’s the second woman to be a full-time assistant coach in the NHL and the first first-time on-ice assistance coach. Last season someone hired a woman as a video coach, which almost made the news with similar headlines. Women have been all over NHL rinks for years as skating coaches, both as power and agility/edgework. The coach hired by Seattle has a background in powerskating and has worked with multiple NHL teams. I believe Buffalo had a female skating instructor work sessions in the past.

Not really. KA was going to be trading Mitts one way or the other. I don’t think he had any sort of target in mind other than BPA. I thought Byram was a great prospect and I think he has a ton of potential, but he didn’t fill a position of need. I’m not sure I really expected an outside 3C to be brought in after the trade anyway.

Quality NHL players don’t sign for the veterans minimum. Jost and Robinson just signed with good teams too. Are they quality NHL players?
