Boston fans on reddit are furious and rightfully so
-
They didn't even boo their commish.

It's not about next season though. If Lehner amounts to what he projects to be, he'll easily be better than any option we have now. We're building a contender, a young goalie with high upside is much more valuable than a 30 year old goaltender who won't even be on the team when we're contending.
-
Is it on the Sabres site yet?
-
That's an aspect of this entire thing that I never thought of. So this is no longer legal, correct?
-
Makes sense. Call me naive, but what does this mean for the churches who refuse to wed a gay couple? Is that still within their rights? Regardless, there are plenty of churches that will happily wed them.
-
I don't think an opinion could be closer to my own. I think it's absolutely great that same-sex couples will no longer be discriminated, but at this point, States are losing more and more rights. Either way, getting this notification slightly after the Lehner one takes the sting away from that a bit.

One too many punches to the face, I guess.

I've followed the thread and none of it said to me he was poor or even anything less than above average defensively. In fact, I'd go as far to say that his stats, though appearing less than stellar, show how good he is defensively. Colorado has been awful on defense since at least 2013, and the fact that he's more or less scratch, is impressive. Zemgus, who is supposed to be our two-way guy, has terrible corsi and fenwick, yet he isn't labeled as poor on defense. As far as FO is concerned, if you take out his age 18 season, his % goes up nearly an entire point. This last season he had a career high in winning percentage while also starting more shifts in his own zone than any other season so far. 53.5 FO% while short handed, 56% on the powerplay. Taking stats at face value can be useful, but I think you're trying to make an argument that shouldn't be made. As it was said earlier, he finished 12th in Selke. He'd instantly be our #1 penalty killer, top PP center, and best two way forward.

What thread? I'm no fancy stat expert, but from what I can tell he's solid in his own end. I am seeing what you mean by his C/60 and F/60 being negative the last two seasons, but how much of that has to do with the Avs poor defense?
-
I really love his persona. The way he carries himself shows how confidant he is and how much drive he's got.
-
Not sure if this is the proper place or not, but I played probably the best round of golf I've ever played today. Shot an 87 with a 40 back 9. From hole 8 to hole 14 I shot even with two birdies and an eagle putt.

It's too bad we never won a cup with Lindy. Maybe it's because he's more or less the only coach I've known during my lifetime, but I always loved the guy. The allure of ROR, to me at least, is his defensive game. The fact that he can put up points is a bonus. If he's utilized heavily in the d zone, I could see a lot of casual fans complaining about him the second any piece in the deal starts to produce. Unless he suddenly becomes a shell of the player he is in his own zone, I'm not sure how he could disappoint (at least not to the people on the board. WGR and their callers on the other hand...) I'm not sure I like this. Unless the price has greatly dropped, I'll be disappointed.

That would definitely make for an exciting first round. I loved watched Zacha play in the playoffs, he plays really hard and chippy. Though he is no where near the caliber of Ovi, his style of play (banging bodies, 1000 MPH) is similar. Have they released next drafts odds yet? How steep is the drop off from the top three (Chychrun/Matthews/Puljujärvi) to number four? Lastly, would we really want to draft a player with possibly the toughest last name to spell in hockey? By next pick, do you mean 2017 first? If I'm Colorado, I would want extra compensation if they ended up losing a top 3 pick.
-
I'm not in the win now mode, but moving next year's first to retain some of our other prospects seems really smart to me. As great as Matthews may be, we know what we would have in ROR

This is just a reminder that the Winter Olympics are too, too far away.

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/25/pht-morning-skates-video-mcdavids-abilities-dont-extend-to-baseball/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcsThe article is about McDavid, but at one point in the video you can see that arrogant, punk Jack Eichel having the audacity to wear sunglasses inside of a dome. Who does he think he is, some kind of rockstar?

I'm not sure how you can say it wasn't so bad right after talking about Buffalo losing superstar Geoff Sanderson.
-
If it's a joke, it certainly isn't a funny one. I still don't understand expanding when there are teams that seem suitable for relocation. QC and Seattle are my first choices as well.
-
Personally I like it. Between him and Kane, some arrogance on the team will be nice. He does make a point, too. I would rather him continue to get stronger and play at BU than play in the AHL where he gets concussed like every Sabres prospect seemingly does.
-
I'm fully aware of what Matthews projects to be, but guys like Hamilton/Toffoli and possibly guys like ROR or Duchene are more of value to me than another shot at the lottery. I'm not saying we should go full "win-now" mode, but I would not be opposed to moving next year's first for a good return.
-
Not that the comment section holds any weight, but boy is Eich getting lambasted by everyone. Apparently he's too brash and wants everything handed to him. We should also trade him already.
-
#### off. Not what I wanted to hear today... :flirt:

Here's the wiki for the Black Sox Scandal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sox_Scandal. "Shoeless" Joe Jackson is the only other player who would likely be in the hall if not for allegedly betting
