Do you think the way Jack’s playing puts him in any position to criticize? I certainly don’t. He’s one of the biggest culprits of what’s wrong with this team. None of that is made up, unless you just haven’t been watching.
-
Jack is in no position to criticize right now, which makes him poor captain material.

Was definitely surprised to see Okposo square up and even more surprised to see he travelled with the team. Looked pretty scary knowing his history. Considering he’s got a wife and I believe kids, he’s gotta big considering calling it a career. Head injuries are scary, especially the more you learn about them. Any word on whether he flew back or if they bussed/put him on a train to come home? Pretty sure flying it’s good for head injuries.

At least he has far fewer conspiracies to deal with these days I’d like to see Sheary swapped with Smith or E-Rod, but at least SOB is down the depth chart. -
We’ve lost a lot of good contributors over the years. I knew XBenedict left, I hadn’t realized Flagg stopped posting. Was he not around the beginning of the season? Is Nero on the board anymore? As someone who primarily reads the board (and has much longer than account activation) the more solid contributors the better, it’s always a shame to lose them.
-
What ever happened to 26cornerblitz? I feel like this board could desperately use some of his high quality GDT to bring some good back into the conversation. And, although I’m probably remembering it wrong, I feel like the team was better when he was around.

Are we positive he isn’t one of the posters on here who is adamantly against anayltics? -
If Eichel had half the drive of E-Rod he would be the second best player in the league. I’m tired of seeing him lollygag up and down the ice and have a visable “woe is me” attitude. He’s not a leader, he’s a selfish player.

Put Mitts in for SOB and the forwards look pretty solid

Thank you. You’re one of my favorite new posters, especially in the draft thread. Hope you keep it up, no matter how many times people try to discourage you.

I understand all of this. But compare the Duchene trade to the Hoffman trade and they are not all that alike. In one situation (Duchene) no team had any issues dealing with the other teams they were trading with. Dorian (Ottawa/Hoffman), in all of his infinite wisdom, came out before trading Hoffman saying he wouldn’t trade within the division. Florida reached out to San Jose and asked them to acquire him, and then they would then trade for him. Like I said in my first post, it’s semantics, but the Hoffman deal most definitely isn’t a three-way deal in the truest sense of the word.
-
Hoffman was traded twice. That’s not how a three way trade works.

Skinner is a treat to watch skate. -
Might be semantics but wasn’t that two separate deals? Hoffman to San Jose (?) then to Florida. Ottawa didn’t want Hoffman in the division

I believe you are correct. He started the season very productive, went down there, came back slow, then was never the same after wrecking his knee. He showed a lot of promise. -

Ever since Chara ran Denny Hamel and more or less ended his career, the Islanders have been among my most hated teams. Let’s win this won for Denis (and because our season depends on it.) -
Im no doctor, but in my experience this has been the case.

Sheary - Why are so many eager to trade him?
#freejame replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Early in the season I think he was missing a lot of opportunities and when he wasn’t, he was largely invisible. I think, myself included, a lot of people expected far more goals for him given his track record of producing with quality centers, but obviously Eichel isn’t Crosby and those goals haven’t happened. He also had a miserable goalless drought. However, I agree his play has been much better as of late and I’ve got no issues keeping him around if he keeps his production up. Nice job starting a thread too. Agreed. But I’d like to see that play come from SOBs and Okposo before moving Sheary for a physical player. -
Great article from the Athletic about Brian Boyle being traded to the Predators and what it’s like for the player and his family to be traded. https://theathletic.com/809436/2019/02/10/inside-brian-boyles-life-immediately-after-trade-to-predators-the-ubers-here-ive-got-to-go/

Looking at these, and watching the replay that’s a shot that you expect your goalie to make at the NHL level. It takes nothing away from Sheary’s play to say Howard played that poorly.
