I agree with this, but if you’re trying to say I “took a dive,” you’re talking out of your ass. I haven’t seen a poster more supportive of Jame than me and that will continue.

Because that’s the one I noticed and is pretty indisputable. None of the snark bothers me at all, I just don’t want to see Jame get booted so I thought I’d point it out to him. Like I said in my post, he knows my feelings about him and his content, I’d like to see him stick around, so I pointed out what bothers others. To my knowledge nobody else is close to being banned, if they were and I liked them like I like Jame, I would do the same thing.

I think a large part of the issue is people can’t tell when the bolded is asked legitimately for more information or rhetorically to be an *****. That’s a problem with the internet as a whole though.

Mitts has never gone through the grind of an A/NHL season before whereas Tage has. I think he wouldn’t gain much because he would be dog tired and set back his off-season development. Tage needs more hockey experience, Mitts need to get adjusted (this year) and then prepare for next season.

This is something I’ve been thinking about lately and I’ve more or less came to the conclusion that Botts would rather break 2-3 guys into the league next year than 4-5, which would have been the case with Tage and Mitts down. Not sure what else would make sense.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think it’s tough finding 7th defensemen in free agency or say for a sixth or seventh if that turns out to be the case. But you’re right, it would be nice to have a serious season, but that involves serious contention. Experience matters this year and this trade signals that, in the event of injury, the young guys are going to get just that.

I think part of it is that Botts doesn’t expect us to need replacement level fringe this season. Unlike the 2005-2006 tam who could have definitely used more replacement level d-men, Botts doesn’t see us making a run and in the case of an injury, he would rather give Borgen, Pilut and company games than Fedun/Beaulieu. It’s not like he’s dealing terms. Beaulieu has control but he’s clearly ill-favored.

Arguably our best prospect (Olofsson) was drafted in the seventh. A sixth isn’t nothing, but it’s not much and it’s likelihood of hitting is low.
