On the topic of Jeff playing with Jack rather than Victor—I believe that the primary reason for this is that Ralph believes that Skinner will benefit the team more without Jack than Victor can. Now that doesn’t excuse Jeff not playing with Jack while VO is out, I think that’s the main driving factor.

Feisty? Yes. Agitator? Yes. Tough? God no. He’s a cry baby and a whiner.
-
That’s fair and I think with one or two more seasons where we improve like that last we’ll start seeing that.

I believe you because I have no reason not to and I can’t think of instances when you’ve been wrong, but this is definitely something I would like to read for myself.

Lemieux’s agent said he wouldn’t sign in Buffalo. I believe he wasn’t even under contract at the time of the trade, we simply controlled his rights.

While I see where you’re coming from, it’s refreshing to have a staff players want to come play for. If he’s good enough to convince guys from one team, chances are those guys talk and will influence guys from another.

I figured you meant Andrew. I don’t see how a decade plus old suspension has anything to do with the modern NHL.

Peters who? Chirping is 100% part of hockey. It belongs in the game. Of course it’s okay.

The issue with keeping Larry and Z is we’ll likely have $11m ties up in our fourth line when we need to be closer to $5m on the fourth. -
Or second liner

I was actually considering breaking down Colorado’s rebuild compared to Buffalo’s. More so the last decade of each franchise. Maybe I’ll get around to it this weekend. I think there’s quite a few major differences that happened and obviously resulted in much more success. -

Skinner has proven earlier in his career he doesn’t need to be surrounded by talent to perform. He also showed a ton of negative personality traits and hockey behaviors that shouldn’t have been rewarded with a $9m contract. -
How many players deep is a core and can you provide a few examples of young cores that you prefer? I don’t like this team at all but we have six-ish NHL rostered players to build around (Samson, Eichel, Skinner, Olofsson, Joki, Dahlin). Our biggest issue is we don’t have the pieces to round out the top six, we only have one genuine third liner, and two (sometimes) properly slotted fourth lines who are both overpaid for their role in the modern NHL.

There’s no doubt in my mind we would be in a better position right now with Disco and GMTM -
Near the top as a second line RW would put him in the 32-44 range. You really think there’s upwards of 44 RWs better than Reinhart?

Pretty confident we’ll draft 4-6 since we’ll finish bottom three and lose the lottery

To expand on this, whenever I go to Sabres games in Raleigh the Sabres crowd enthusiastically root for Buffalo. It’s nothing special for most of the people going to games back in Buffalo and they’re going because they have tickets. Whereas there’s something to be said about arriving in droves to an away game to root on the visitors. -

Oh there’s no conflict for me either, I’ll never root for another Sabres loss again. That rivalry really was something. For as big of an Avs fan I was, my best friend was a Red Wings and Stevie Y guy. Some of the best hockey ever played were between those two rosters. There’s a really great YouTube video you should watch on the rivalry if you ever get the chance: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YIzNQydkBi0 -
Name 30 RWs better than Sam. Or even 15.

While in general I agree with you on all of this, I do seem to remember a few from TSN (?) saying it was a haul for Buffalo. Not many, but there’s always a few crazies.
-
Yeah, I kept waiting and waiting for something beyond recapping playoff droughts or something much more Sabres focus but unless it came in the last 90 seconds that I gave up on, I don’t see the benefit of the Pegulas watching.

I used to love the Avalanche growing up. It was difficult being a Sabres fan after No Goal, especially once Hasek left. The Sabres were not good, attendance was low, and the owner was a criminal. But Joe Sakic and the Avs? Now that was a team that was fun to watch. I remember the excitement of getting Chris Drurys McDonalds rookie card. My first Sakic sweater. My second Sakic sweater. My third Sakic sweater. Jumping up and down on the couch watching them beat the Devils in the cup. I don’t follow the Avs closely anymore, but I love me some Nathan MacKinnon and Gabe Landeskog. I might watch tonight for the nostalgia. Maybe they’ll talk about Hejduk and Tanguay or Blake and Foote at some point. Go Sabres...
