  1. Thanks, much appreciated! I’m pretty optimistic. I’ve got the best background of those that applied, but right now there’s a question of whether we will be having the new training class that the managers would be in charge of. Either way, I’m confident it’s in the cards sooner or later.
  2. I went to my local bike shop the other day and they were all sold out of pumps. I think I’ve found the culprit.
  3. I agree with this to an extent on Warren. I think they’re very skeptical about her background of 25 years ago. I also think that there are two driving groups of progressives. The more realistic type that I would classify as middle-aged, middle class who have held their beliefs for a long time but are life long Democrats because they are the party of lesser evil (similar to what I believe is a plurality of Republicans). There is also a younger, more “radical” group that do not grasp the way things work and if they cannot have their way they will shoot themselves in the foot for no reason other than purity. This is overly broad but I’m not sure how else to express it: progressives have a tendency to not believe in sustained growth/development. If you a have erred in the past you are not worthy of the progressive torch and quite frankly, that’s not how human begins work. I think the progressive left needs to come to the realization the conservative right did in the 80s. This is a game and a game that takes time. We’re now seeing the affects of the conservative movement in full force that began over 30 years ago. Too many on the progressive left do not have an understanding of politics and history to understand how change is made. Even while in school for political science there was a divide. There were folks who wanted to learn and educate themselves and develop their beliefs. And those who were in class to push their agenda. It’s a large problem on both sides but the right understands the game better than the left. Regardless I am deeply unsatisfied with our current state of affairs and cannot think of a time in my adult life in which I can say I have been happy with our politics. This ended a little longer than anticipated and got a bit off-topic but it is what it is.
  4. It’s been so long since I’ve been invested in the Sabres during a new year that I don’t feel like I’m missing anything at all. This past Bills season was the first I’ve enjoyed in sometime, but I’m fine without football as well. I miss baseball a lot, but a lot of that has to do with a really great fantasy league I’ve been apart of almost a decade. I’m most upset that the baseball team I coach had its season cancelled.
  5. Looks like Jack Eichel’s got another higher ankle sprain.
  6. And full of *****. Anyone who claims the Sabres do jack for season ticket holders is talking out of their ass. STH had it much better under Rigas than they ever have since. Quinn claimed the Head of ticket sales knew the name of every STH. Sure never acted liked it.
  7. The DNC know this, progressives do not.
  8. Neither Michigan or North Carolina are mostly red states.
  9. Glad he freed that space up for you in time for the playoff push.
  10. I thought about changing my vote from Drury to either Peca or ROR but just couldn’t do it. Maybe if it’s still tied several drinks from now I’ll throw on my Peca sweater and change but I always resented Peca for the holdout (right or wrong I was like 10) and ROR is no Chris Drury.
  11. Sounds to me mike you caught yourself a bit of the ol’ pain Olympics videos. Not for the faint of heart and pretty *****. To your later posts, I’m a bit of a privacy wonk, but this all is very, very simple things that they should have been doing out of common sense. The person responsible for setting up the chat bears some of the blame for their negligence.
  12. Can Miller hold the title of second greatest Sabres goalie while also holding the title of most overrated Sabres goalie ever? If so, I agree with Miller.
  13. I was really poor in 2018 and only moderately poor in 2019 and I got my check. I also file my taxes the first chance I can get. I don’t need the money per se but it’s nice always nice to have. Things are finally starting to break for me financially and I might clear 3k in bonuses and commission for the month and make 5k in a month for the first time ever. There’s a sig rifle I’ve had my eye on for a very, very long time that’s really calling my name but I’m not spending any of my stimulus until I see how the end of this month goes. Combined with a management position at work I just applied for, I’m really looking forward to 2021 and much more financial comfort.
  14. I’ve never played pitch, but I definitely prefer spades over hearts. Would take either over most just about any game less risk though. I’ve only played the Mexican train game a few times but it was a blast every time.
  15. Update: Publix had steak today. Got two. Grilled one with some mashed potatoes, corn and Texas toast. I’m going to pan sear the other one over the weekend. I’m feeling very satisfied right now.
  16. Read hearts and my first thought was “well there’s your problem, you should be playing spades.”
  17. God I hate cooking for one. I wish more people would take me up when I offer to have them over for dinner. I’m not doing it for them, I’m doing it for me. They just happen to benefit.
  18. Not arguing about the efficacy of hudroxichloroquine but rather asking are the side effects of it in testing covid any different than its normal side effects? It’s well known it’s for some crazy side effects. It’s why we don’t give it to troops in the Middle East anymore and now give out Doxy.
  19. I almost went with Darcy, but TM would have us in the playoffs two years ago if he didn’t call Kim a ***** and I’m not sure Darcy would have had us there by then.
  20. Larsson currently makes $1.555m. That’s exactly what he’s worth, even then it’s on the high end for a fourth liner who can’t put up 20 points. We don’t have the talent upfront to replace him without leaving a hole. I could stomach $2.25m, but that’s far too high for his role. However, the legend of Larry is so large around these parts that not signing him at that rate would make the board near unbearable.
  21. No. You don’t pay role players that kind of money. If Larry wants a dollar more than 2.25M you let him walk. Even that is steep. Others have pointed out the cost of good teams fourth liners and their production and we’ve got the majority of the board wanting to pay Larry the same without the production. We’ve been bad for so long that most forget what a good team looks like.
  22. I made a post sometime last weeke about the MLB getting started with full support of Congress. It was just announced the MLB will be undertaking the largest Covid Antibody study with 10,000 employees from 27 teams taking part. Baseball might be losing popularity (but not revenue), but it will forever be America’s greatest entertainment treasure in my mind. https://theathletic.com/1746724/2020/04/14/mlb-team-employees-will-be-the-subjects-of-the-u-s-s-largest-covid-19-antibody-study/?source=user_shared_article
  23. Funny you should say that, I almost responded with “I don’t like Seinfeld either but it’s no reason to leave.” I take it you are a fan if you’re making references.
  24. Did I miss something or do you just hate laughter? This seems awfully out of place.
