I was there last night. Lower bowl. Beautiful play. And know what else he did? Shyte. He floated and was invisible most of the night until th ot pp. and the he got lucky. He is a phenomenal talent. But what Jack did tonight was far more than McD did last night. I think we need to realize they are both really good. And both do not go 110% on every shift. I like McDavid alot but I am seeing Jack in a new light. Jack is a very good player too.

Here is where I have an issue understanding your theory. If a player is on the pp like Ovechkin, but is a liability defensively, we say that is tougher minutes? I think your model ignores the defensive skill sets of some of the players. ROR gets pp time Moulson gets pp time. I think ROR historically has been the tougher player to play against.

I think they are inversely related. A good number 1 d reduces the need for a vezina caliber gt. A Vezina caliber gt allows you run marginal d against top qoc. They both can be acquired but you need the cap space or luck out in the draft. Okposo ROR and Kane would limit your flexibility to do that. Too much money tied up there. You need to shed someone.

Interesting analogy. As a stereo geek, I think reading the instructions gets you less than halfway there. If your components are not suitable for each other, i.e. the impedance of the speakers makes them to hard to power for the amp, you will not get optimal sound. Your room can have resonance issues and nulls where speaker placement becomes crucial. Even a few inches or degrees can have a profound in impact. You have to calibrate the distance from the amp so all speakers deliver the sound at the appropriate moment. And your desire for a type of component say tubes vs solid state may not produce the synergy you want in the end. If you want home theater it takes tinkering. Theater in a box is easy but unfulfilling. It is on the players to be in shape, understand the game plan and execute. Coaches are the the tinkerers. The players can read the manual and be connected, it is the coaches who are responsible for getting the best possible sound out of the system.

I think there is too much contract up front. Need more on the back end and don’t see a GT or #1 d.

They are not lazy. That would be the lazy response. There is alot of activity, some good alot bad, but very little accomplishment. The energy has to have more direction. That is on both the players to realize they are not executing and wanting to improve, and the coaches to have viable answers as to what to do to get more out of their games. I'll give it 20 games. After that we have seen the changes in the off ice personnel. The only option after that is changes to the on ice personnel.

And two years left on his deal. Uuggh.
