  1. Yes I honestly think they don't have a chance this weekend between the Houston defense playing like it is and the Bills defense playing like it is, especially if the Bills' D plays like it did last week.
  2. I thought the show was good as well. Sounds like we were lucky that we saw them when we did. From reading the Reddit thread that Josie posted the quality was quite hit or miss (mostly miss) as the drug problems got worse. I think I agree with you on the green megaphone, but I don't know how you remember that little tidbit. I couldn't have guessed at the color before you said something.
  3. Yes, and Josie got to this before I did, but the Skylanders store their levels in the figurine. I found one at the thrift store in a $1.00 grab bag that had been leveled up previously. The Mario characters do unlock special features and characters in many games. Mario Kart for sure. I think/hope there's alot of room for expanding their capabilities in the future.
  4. I'm heavily leaning towards skipping Sunday's game and the rest of the season. It's highly unusual for me, but I think they've (the NFL and the Bills) finally worn me down to where I'd rather be doing something else. Between the officiating, the commercials, and the Bills organization, the product is unwatchable.
  5. Not even on a stay-at-home hockey defenseman?
  6. Well, right now he just "died in his sleep". :P Edit: Although he was found at 9 PM on a night when they were scheduled to do a show, so I'm thinking that sleep may have been unintended.
  7. I guess this belongs here rather than anywhere else, but RIP Scott Weiland. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/scott-weiland-dead-at-48-20151204 I used to be a fan of STP and saw them at the Rochester War Memorial in 1997(?). My favorite song of theirs has always been: When they did this song live, Scott used a megaphone for the voice effect, which I thought was pretty cool.
  8. I agree they're like crack, but at least they're more versatile than buying content and collectible to some. You can also get some pretty good deals on the Skylanders if you're patient (like $2-$3 apiece). I don't have Yoshi's World yet, but it's on my list to get when I can get a deal. I'm only buying the one that comes with a plushie though because my daughter loves it already
  9. Fun story: I had an Xbox 360 for about 12 hours once. The first game I got was one of the Dragon's Age series. Played for about a half hour and came to 3 different areas I could not access without purchasing said access. That was it for me. Nintendo may be a worse system than the others, but I have never run into that problem with them. At least the Skylanders, Infinity, Amiibos, etc. can be used in several games so your purchase is more worthwhile. Paying for more content after spending $60 on a game is ######.
  10. Couldn't resist channeling LGR here, but it sounds like you're saying:
  11. This^ It was looking like he'd be a prime candidate for new "whipping boy" but he's taken himself out of consideration, which is tough to do.
  12. The addons for video games are getting out of hand, especially for kids games. There's a new Skylanders game and new figures every 6 months it seems. Also now have Disney Infinity and characters. And Amiibos for the Wii U. The Infinity figures look interesting because they now include Marvel and Star Wars. I've got the Infinity starter set for my daughter for Christmas on a great deal, but I haven't seen any of the other figures cheap enough for me to buy yet. My son's two favorite toys are Lego and video games, so I'm sure I'll get the Dimensions someday, but you're right the price is pretty high right now. Legos are obscenely priced alone as well, so it could take awhile to get in my desired cheap price range.
  13. Taking a queue from SDS in the Risto thread, I am curious what the current thought of the Sabrespace community are in regards to Gorges' play this year. Stats-wise, in 25 games, he has 1 goal and 3 assists and has an even +/-. He's never been a "stats" guy though. My opinion is that his play has been better than expected coming back from a serious injury. He's also been a solid veteran presence to pair with Risto, which has improved Risto's performance. I had my doubts coming into the year that he was going to be useful on our team going forward, but his play has caused me to reconsider that and I am pleasantly surprised. Some of the comments from the Risto thread to help get things started:
  14. Have appreciated your comments on the Wii U. Have always been a Nintendo fan and have had all the systems up until recently, when I downsized to just the Wii and a seldom used Super Nintendo and a couple old school Game Boys. Picked up the Wii U a couple months ago since the price has come down and the games can be purchased pretty reasonably if you're patient. The Wii U is pretty amazing for family gaming. My wife and I conquered both Mario Bros. U and Luigi U together. We enjoy playing those and some others with the kids as well. Kids are into Skylanders and they are going to have quite a Skylanders Christmas this year. Have gotten some great deals on those. The most exciting thing is that today is Xenoblade Chronicles X release day and I plan on picking that up tonight. The previews I've seen look awesome. Can't wait. Also, the Wii U actually has a wide variety of "Mature" games I've noticed. Got a great deal on Assassin's Creed III and IV and will be playing those soon at times when the kids are not around and/or sleeping. Excellent system and would recommend to anyone for fun family gaming, but also versatile for playing the "Mature" games as well.
  15. Loved The Dead Zone. One of my favorites so far in my "Stephen King, Revisited" tour. I just recently picked up his new book "The Bazaar of Bad Dreams" and have begun reading that. It's a collection of short stories. The first story "Mile 81" is pretty crazy and is an awesome start to the book. This book is notable because he does a little introduction for each story, which I like and he hasn't done before (or much before) that I can recall. He usually just does the one long introduction for everything at the beginning of the book. Also, I just finished "Batman and Robin Have an Altercation", which aside from being a good story, has an amazing title!
  16. "The Zemgus rule"? Funny how the Legend of Zemgus caused the NHL to change the rules. Apparently they don't care about their international fan base anymore?
  17. Reports say county department of public health was having their Christmas party. Would that warrant an organized crime hit?
  18. That messed up kid is going to get a bunch of people killed. Was anyone else screaming "shut up!" at the tv? Jessie's kids have caused all the problems for Rick's current group. From trying to off Carl and letting zombies into the house to not being able to shut the up while they attempt to escape.
  19. Pretty funny: Michigan's Jake Butt wins Big Ten tight end of the year Thanks for that, Eleven! :w00t:
  20. The only one of these that I watch is Gotham. Not much of a superhero fan, but I really like that show. The first season was good too, but this season has been crazier for sure.
  21. I certainly hope that it's not because "social services are bad, mmmkay", but the target makes one wonder about motives. You either can tell the future or the broken record keeps on spinning.
  22. L.A. Times says "at least 3 suspected shooters" and "the suspects are heavily armed and possibly wearing body armor." http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-up-to-20-shot-in-san-bernardino-active-shooter-sought-20151202-story.html Sarcasm, reality.....what's the difference?
  23. 1 to 3 suspects. Up to 20 shot according to CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/02/us/san-bernardino-shooting/index.html
  24. It's been way too common for far too long. There's obviously nothing that can be done about it. It's something that America just has to live with.
