  1. It's a deal, but it's only two and a half months, so even a little more tolerable to the loser! ;) Watch the NFL mess with the calendar for next year and one of us will not be happy.
  2. Can you guys elaborate as to what the long term benefits would be? I keep seeing this and I'm honestly curious. From my point of view making questionable decisions and having poor strategy have no benefits. Is it to show how not to play when we get a better coach in year 3?
  3. I'm in for either. Using this year's calendar for a guide: mid-March for free agency or end of April for draft. You sure you're in? I don't want to take advantage of your current physical and mental anguish. :P
  4. PA: But, yeah, Eleven, TrueBlue and I are in the early stages of forming an unholy alliance. Rogue elements of TSC could also be involved. Stay tuned. Me! Me! I want in on this! I've posted my dissatisfaction above in regards to Disco. I don't like his line decisions and I've found I can't listen to him talk. Too boring and vanilla. I also think that he's holding the team back and that our record could/should be better at this point. Or to put it other ways: Every evil triumvirate needs foot soldiers Every 1st line needs a quality 4th line
  5. Wow We've, sorry to hear all that. You always hear about political stuff like that happening, but I've never heard the side of the displaced before. Hopefully 2016 brings better luck for you.
  6. Love it! Thanks! Wtf was going on with her head (and eyes) during the not photo-shopped version?
  7. Ok so the bet is for the 2016 regular season, the Bills will be top-12 in DVOA and the winner picks the loser's avatar from the end of the Bills' season until the draft? Training camp? Regular season? I ain't skeered. Many people were on the ROR bandwagon. He still may be right about Hillary, but with her being preordained, that wasn't much of a stretch either.
  8. Saw in the box score (missed the game) that Bogo was a -4. Ouch. Was his play as bad as the box score indicates?
  9. SI ranked the 15 best moves in the NHL for 2015: Ryan O'Reilly to the Sabres is #3 Neuvirth to the Flyers is #9 Devan Dubnyk to Minnesota was #1 I wonder if Ducky comments on SI since the first article comment is a long one about how Winnipeg fleeced Buffalo in the Kane trade and that move should have been #1. :P http://www.si.com/nhl/2015/12/30/15-best-nhl-signings-trades-pickups-2015-phil-kessel-devan-dubnyk
  10. Yes, but you also need to be similarly beaten down if the defense still sucks. Where is your proof? A supposed "mastermind" defensive coach. Here's some stats for you comparing the Bills defense from 2014 to 2015: Total defense from #4 in NFL to #20 DVOA (because I know you like stats) from #2 to #29(!!!) Team sacks from 54 to 20 Team interceptions from 19 to 14 Forced fumbles/fumble recoveries from 15/11 to 9/8 Marcel Dareus from 10 sacks to 2 Mario Williams from 42 tackles and 14.5 sacks to 17(!!!) and 4 A supposed defensive genius does not produce this pitifully for even one season with essentially the same personnel and adding Darby. Based on the historical trend that Hoss posted above, it's likely to continue. Maybe the rest of the NFL has learned how to beat Rex's defenses and/or offenses have simply passed him by and he's not a good defensive coach anymore? It's happened to many others over the years.
  11. Rex certainly was a good defensive coach. The evidence indicates that he's not anymore. Did you see the defense this year? That's going to be the refrain for your 2016 Buffalo Bills: We just need continuity! (It's already happening)
  12. Expectations were much higher than 7 wins. It's also debatable as to how "highly coveted" Rex is/was. As I recall, Atlanta may have been interested in him, but that was it. Rex very well could have come here if Ralph was still around since he didn't have many or any other options. And yes the Bills are in the same place they've been for 16 years, teetering on the edge of yet another disaster mode, which is pretty damn disappointing to me.
  13. Ok, but I don't have to agree with them. A salary cap would be the best idea for MLB but since that's never going to happen we're stuck with the luxury tax and the comp system. Daniel Murphy made plenty of money and the Nats apparently thought he was also worth losing a first round pick and giving their division opponents an extra one. Sounds like a market decision to me. They knew all the parameters and a deal was struck that everyone could live with.
  14. It hasn't. They've all signed somewhere except one and he signed late. The only difference is how long it took for some of those players to be signed.
  15. You're right. I read the information wrong. Nats lose their first rounder and Mets get a late first rounder, but it's not the same pick. I don't mind the comp rules, and it really hasn't affected the signing of very many players. It has definitely slowed the signing of some players and I believe only Kendry Morales stayed unsigned long enough to have the compensation drop off of his signing. The Mets wasted their first rounder last year to sign Michael freakin Cuddyer so I'm glad they were able to pick up an extra one this year.
  16. I can't even listen to one second of his radio show. He usually has interesting guests, but his constant schilling and lack of critical thinking regarding the Bills is nauseating. Yes, I get it, he gets paid by the Bills, but have some self respect, John! Examples (paraphrasing): Caller: So and so player has not been good John: Oh I disagree I think he's played well and remember that one play he once had (no matter how long ago it was and under what circumstances)? Or: Caller: Wow, the Bills did not play well and don't seem to be headed in a positive direction. John: Don't you think they're close? They just need to do this, this, and this and tighten up this, this, and this and remember that one good game they had (no matter how long ago)? They play like that and they'll be formidable!
  17. Finally have gotten around to watching the first season of "Better Call Saul" over the winter tv show break. Through 4 episodes and like it very much so far.
  18. Well to be fair, the Mets chose to part with Murphy. They traded for Neil Walker from the Pirates earlier this offseason. I like the move. Similar stats to Zobrist, but in the NL, switch hitter, cheaper, but free agent after next season. Mets also get Nats first round pick since they signed Murphy. Otherwise the Mets are being cheap again. Their offense is going to look a lot like their pre-trading deadline offense of last year, since it's basically the same. Owners won't spend the money or can't since they're using any club revenues to pay off their Bernie Madoff debt. They even had a surprise Michael Cuddyer retirement which freed up $12.5 million. Their payroll may even be less than last year and they're well on their way to wasting all their historically good and cheap young arms. Love being a Mets fan! MLB got rid of Dodgers owner McCourt for similar shenanigans, but somehow the Wilpons are allowed to continue to ruin the Mets. Good article that explains the situation well if anyone is interested: http://www.vocativ.com/news/262818/the-new-york-mets-operate-like-a-ponzi-scheme/
  19. Well, today is officially 20 years, 9 coaches, countless boneheaded plays, and numerous disappointments of every variety since the last Buffalo Bills playoff victory. With this team looking like there at least needs to be some big personnel changes after this year, and if those band-aids aren't successful, there could be another rebuild. I didn't even bother to try and count those since it'd be tough to figure out where one ended and the next began over the previous two decades.
  20. Happy anniversary everyone! Tomorrow is the 20th anniversary of the last Buffalo Bills playoff victory. I believe china is the traditional gift for you last minute shoppers. Appears to me that Rex may have lost his mojo. My son just turned 11 a couple weeks ago and shows little to no interest in the Bills as well. I could probably strap the sandbag on him, but that would be child abuse.
  21. At least I'm not drinking the Kool Aid before the marketing department has even made it yet. Have some dignity and play a little hard-to-get.
  22. To the bolded: There is one constant in the NFL.
  23. The future Sabres' infuriatingly underachieving line: Moulson-Johansen-Gionta  I agree with this. Columbus is going to want a huge haul for Johansen and he's not worth it in my opinion. They are also in no rush financially or contractually to move him. He's signed relatively cheaply through next season and then he's still an RFA after that. Save any trading assets we have left for a position of need such as LHD and RW.
