  1. But robotic and unsuccessful is annoying. This team is so flat too much of the time that I worry that they're mirroring their coach's demeanor. A little emotion from the coach and team would not be a bad thing.

Yep, I'd at least listen on Kane, but with the legal issue and his play this year, his value has got to be about zilch. My no movement list is what I consider our current inner/outer core and guys too young/unproven to give up on yet. I'm willing to see where that group goes with some different, hopefully more effective, pieces around them.
  3. And then add Ekblad. Going to be tough for Risto to crack that top 3, but I'm all for him trying to! It will also help him if the Sabres improve as a team overall.
  4. Points per game is useful too. Thanks for posting those. I think the fact that Stafford and Myers have played in all 40 games for the Jets is also another positive in their column, however. Kane and Bogo have missed 27 games combined. I'm personally glad Stafford and Myers are gone. I was hoping that their replacements would be more of an improvement, though. And I'm realizing that this trade is not looking any better as time goes on, which I was once optimistic was going to be the case.

I'm at the point where I'm at least listening to offers for anyone on the roster not named O'Reilly, Eichel, Ristolainen, Reinhart, Ullmark, Lehner, Pysyk, and McCabe. I personally would like Girgensons, Larsson, and Deslauriers to be part of the team's future, but if the right deal came along...
  6. You were essentially correct in that I'd personally take Myers stat line over Kane and Bogo's combined numbers. Myers has 1 point less than Kane and Bogo combined, but is also a +4, while Kane/Bogo are a combined -17.
  7. psst....we're losing....a lot This trade deadline may be a good chance to offload some of the guys that don't look like they'll be part of the future moving forward. There's not many teams completely out of it, so any available trade assets could be in high demand. I'd like to be winning more now, but this season is quickly slipping (has slipped?) away, so may as well look at what will be best for the team in the future.
  8. That trade is not looking better over time unfortunately. Kane and Bogo have been 2 of the bigger disappointments so far this year for the Sabres. Bogo, especially, in my opinion. Last year, before injury, he looked like exactly the physical presence and leader the Sabres needed moving forward, but he has regressed very much this year in my view. Kane, as has been mentioned by others, makes poor decisions regularly. He seems to pass when he should hold the puck or shoot, and he seems to shoot when he should pass. His no-look, lazy, behind-the-back passes are all too common. I still have nightmare flashbacks to the one from the Kings game that gave Kopitar a breakaway in OT. The stats for those interested: Stafford 14-8-22 -5 Myers 5-12-17 +4 Armia 1-0-1 +1 Kane 8-5-13 -9 Bogosian 1-4-5 -8 I'm no longer counting on those two as pieces of the core (inner or outer) moving forward. Their spots may need to be upgraded if the opportunity presents itself.
  9. Anyone else hear that massive explosion? I think it was Freeman :w00t: The Bills playoff drought can vote and buy cigarettes soon.
  10. He's been such a great dog that I would still get him again even if I knew he'd die at 6. Totally worth it. Gotta take the (potential) bad with the good, I guess.
  11. Cool. Was it light brown or dark? I ask because I have a light brown Newfoundland that's about 150. He's about 1 3/4 years old. Great family dog. He gets a lot of attention any where we go.
  12. In lurking in this conversation, it looks like Neo wants a simplified progressive tax. A flat tax does imply everyone pays the same rate. And there are many people out there who want that unfortunately.
  13. Read my mind! I almost added that but it was too depressing to think about on new year's day :p
  14. Everyone's salary on the whole team for the last almost 2 decades has been a waste.
  15. He's got anonymous players going to the media against him. P. Brown and Leodis supporting him to the media. He's now become the scapegoat for the 16th failed season in a row for the fans. The Bills are very good at deflecting attention off of the real problem which is a rotten franchise. There is no good that can come from him playing imo.
  16. Good point. There are just no good reasons to play MW Sunday. Plenty of negatives though.
  17. I don't understand why "developing the youngsters" and "going all out to win" are mutually exclusive? Why do the players have to play dump and chase and play on poorly conceived lines to develop? Seems that winning and playing well would be the best development tool and we should be going all out to give the best chance for those outcomes.
  18. And others are defending him. Back to the bickering Bills! Hooray! SInce they leaked the news anyway, Mario should just be deactivated. The Jets are going to crush the Bills Sunday. Look at the Bills depth chart at CB and WR
  19. O'Malley didn't make the ballot for the Democratic primary in Ohio. All the other major candidates did, which includes the 9 "primetime" Republicans and the other 2 Democrats. http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2015/12/31/martin-omalley-primary-ballot.html
  20. I like "the Plan". Sounds like even wjag wants in. They'll never see us coming. pssst....I don't think Swamp is in yet.
  21. Next up for U.S.A.: Czech Republic in the quarterfinals - Saturday at 1:00 PM EST
  22. Wawrow! Wonder if we'll ever see him around here again? It also says they're bringing Kyle Williams and his $8 million cap hit back. He had 1 sack in 6 games. He will be 33 next season. Well I'm sure they'll try to bring back Glenn and Incognito who are free agents. That will take hefty raises for both. The only other unrestricted free agent I see that I would want back would be Bradham. They could bring back Jordan Mills at RT, but they could easily try and do better too.
  23. He'll be good somewhere else. Funny how he wasn't getting paid too much before this year that Rex totally misused him. I'd speak up if I were Mario too. He was on pace to be an all-time Bill. His sack numbers since joining the Bills: 10.5, 13.0, 14.5, 4.0. Thanks Rex.
  24. Sure, but only if it's Dan's, and it pisses him off enough that it causes him to drop his well mannered executive/professor appearance and demeanor and runs after me angrily screaming and yelling every vulgar word/phrase that exists. I'm a team player after all... :P
