  1. Welcome back! Stated perfectly some of my thoughts. Great post!
  2. Is it only available in Amerks?
  3. First, :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: Second, I said awhile back that I was having a dawning revelation that we're . It's getting worse and worse. DDB will be coach for much longer than most of us think possible at this point. Third, Timmy you're the boss! You can address underperforming players and behavior several ways! You did absolutely nothing in that regard. If it is the players fault, as you have consistently stated, do something about it!
  4. Yep, jettisoning any dead weight, which this team has an abundance of = panicky trades. The team's trajectory and performance this year must be maintained at all costs! As to the bolded, the trade deadline is one way to shake things up. Doing nothing, when you're in the Sabres current position, is just inexplicable to me.
  5. So we just settle for mediocrity? Got it. Other teams historically and currently can improve quicker, but I guess that's just too much for Buffalo. Most can see that something is not right here and I'm not interested in staying the course on this version of the Sabres, but that indeed seems to be the plan.
  6. Completely understandable. Everything is fine and dandy with the Sabres. Stay the course! (Now where have I heard that before and how did it turn out? :wallbash: )
  7. Except all the times when there is as evidenced several times in this thread. I'm not saying there always are rumors, but quite often there are. But don't let that get in the way of you being an . There has been a huge void of anything Sabres related today for the most part, which was and is my original point.
  8. Big whoop. Look at all these non-rumored trades the Sabres are making. Look at all these rumored trades that are being completed. Where's there's smoke there's fire.
  9. Why yes, yes I am. There are several instances in this thread alone where rumor turns to completed deal soon thereafter.
  10. And lack of moves corresponding with those lack of rumors? Something needs to change somewhere. The status quo is unacceptable. I agree with you that the Sabres defy description right now.
  11. Yep, overall yawn. No Sabres team improvement seen from any of those trades. Last year's deadline was a dud and this year's is shaping up to be. We need help now or soon and he doesn't seem capable of getting it. And your and my opinion of the Kane trade varies dramatically. He's not even worth a fraction of what Murray paid for him at his highest on ice apex. Oh, and we are saddled with another 3 years and $15+ million for Bogo as part of Murray's mastery. The point remains that in my opinion he waits too long to make moves at the deadline and the deals he does make are subpar.
  12. The lack of Sabres rumors and moves has me even more frustrated and concerned with the direction of this franchise. Going through this disappointing season and not making any moves to even try to turn things around is one thing, but having that extend through the trade deadline would be unbelievably incompetent.
  13. Agreed. This is what I was saying. Good at buying=will spend whatever it takes whether it's a good idea or not.
  14. Somebody needs to tell him he doesn't have to wait until the last day. He's good at buying, but he always waits too long (imo) to sell at the deadline. Earlier allows for more time for bigger moves and not just the player for a pick type trades.
  15. Attempt to showcase Gionta prior to the deadline? I know that's not likely the reason, but it's the only reason that would logically make sense.
  16. He should not have been on the air today. He shouldn't be on the air unless and until the incident is investigated and he's cleared of any charges. The public relations of both PS&E franchises continues to astound me in their respective ineptitude. Who in their right mind would think that's a good decision at this point in time?
  17. It's odd to draw the line at Kulikov. He's no where near the level of Briere or Drury. It was a gamble that Murray took based on Kulikov conceptually being Murray's type of defenseman. The move didn't pan out and I'm not sure if he'll even have interest from the Sabres this offseason. Based on his play this year, we're looking at a very low draft pick for him on the trade market, I'd think. Maybe conditional 4th rounder at best? I am in favor of getting whatever we can since I'd like to hopefully improve his spot next year on defense and I'm not sure he's in the plans anyway.
  18. Where's the trademark "big move" when the team's been circling the drain all season? He's been oddly content with this woeful season. Even if it's a move for next year. Keep the same players and coach and next year's an uphill battle before it even begins. A) yse325 has done a good job in the Kane thread showing the cap issues we could encounter even over the next couple years. The room would be very helpful in potentially upgrading the D, now and over the offseason. Yes, Moulson and Bogo ($5 million+ through 2020!!!) are big ones that we're still saddled with in 2018-2019, along with Ennis. Even Gorges at $4 million for 2017-2018 will severely hamstring us in upgrading the defense this coming offseason. B) I'm not as enthused about the pipeline. Rochester is a huge mess. Nylander has been meh in the AHL. Bailey, Baptiste, and Rodrigues still have a ways to go to show that they belong in the NHL. Guhle is it on D, and us fans are putting enormous hope in him. We need him to succeed as a solid 20 year old NHL defender or we're really in big trouble. C) The more assets we have, the more chances for good draft picks. Murray has been overrated as to his drafting ability, he needs all the picks he can get.
  19. Yeah, my 2nd thought was "Why is Andrew Peters coaching 15 year olds to begin with?!?!" That scenario seemed destined to end in something like this. Surprise!
  20. A few other concerns: We're a cap team with nothing to show for it. All that cap space we had during the tank is wasted. We're saddled with several awful contracts. All of which, except Ennis, are Murray's fault for signing them or taking them on. Same for assets. The team and pipeline should be in better shape with all the tank assets that were accumulated. Murray tends to buy sky high (see assets). I'd like to see him get better value in deals at least once in awhile. He seems very content blaming the season on injuries and overly content with Dreary Dan. We should have moved on from Dreary already. His self serving reversal of the rebuild time frame that no one is even asking him about. "Quick rebuild that's not going to take years" to "Patience and time" once it became apparent that his moves were not working out.
  21. Why are 15 year olds brawling anyway? The NHL dinosaurs have apparently ruined hockey at all levels.
  22. Fun fact: Myers has more goals and the same number of points in 11 GP as Bogosian does in 30 GP this year. I won't even bring up the disparity in +/-
  23. Just finished up season 1 of Sneaky Pete, which is an Amazon Prime original series. Highly recommended. Created by Bryan Cranston, who also does a great job of playing the very evil bad guy. Great ratings everywhere I've seen. Wife and I really enjoyed it and can't wait for season 2.
  24. Julien officially available. Could that make Dreary Dan's seat warmer? C'mon Terry and Tim, he's won a cup!
  25. Bruins fire Julien http://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/18636374/boston-bruins-fire-head-coach-claude-julien C'mon Tim, go get him! Hopefully there's some panic at the disco in the very near future.
