  1. I wonder how far Lindstrom falls with his back injury.
  2. Sennecke looked a bit surprised, like he doesn't like sand.
  3. Mr. Grier looks like a hockey player next to those mere mortals. And then the Beard arrives and has to bend halfway over to reach the mic.
  4. They won't... but if only they would... a 4th line of Barnekow-Lofberg - Ratkovic-Berndtsson - Brandsegg-Nygard is a dream. My heart would flutter.
  5. There've been so many it's silly. Ristolainen = 2021 PHI 1st F Isak Rosen, 2023 PHI 2nd C Anton Wahlberg, & 2022 FLA 6th Gustav Karlsson (via Hagg) Eichel = Tuch, Krebs, 2022 VGK 1st Noah Östlund, & Greenway (via 2023 VGK 2nd) Reinhart = Levi & 2022 FLA 1st C Jiri Kulich
  6. What, was re-signing Kale Clague not a major move?
  7. I feel much better with him at 14 than at 11. My fear with Nygård is you look back 7 seasons later and say “we got a really good middle-six player” and then the pick 17 winger is a top liner from his third season onward and surpasses 1000 career points. And could still be happy with Brandsegg.
  8. I like the move. Nothing to add that hasn’t been said above. Can still get a targeted player at 14 that you might think is a reach at 11. The 2nd is currency for a 2/3C trade with a year left on the contract.
  9. Vancouver re-signed Blueger and now Lafferty is likely off the UFA list as he's back in Chicago. Either of them would've been solid 4C upgrades over Krebs/Jost this season. It's a potentially excellent move for Chicago if Mikheyev completely recovers from his knee injury and regains his wheels and low 2nd-line potential goal scoring. He's probably only 1-2 years from losing a step to age, so there's some risk, but that's the end of the contract anyway.
  10. Other options include: Petersen (honorary) and Johansson; Zadorov, Borgen, Irwin, and Wolanin; and Hall, Foligno, Deslauriers, Lazar, Armia, Fasching, Bailey, Hinostroza, and Jankowski.
  11. Underpaid for a 2C; overpaid for a 3C. But what it really means is that the Avalanche can keep Trenin as a 4C option and pay him just fine. If you're Trenin, how much to the Sabres have to overpay you in UFA to be the 3C on a maybe, vs. 4C with Colorado to be ready-made Cup contender?
  12. I would encourage the players to skate right to the glass. Share it with the fans. Get close enough for them to see the names. Make it a party.
  13. Coach Maurice just swearing away on TV during the interview.
  14. In the end, I don't care who wins. I love watching them skate the Cup. Okposo third.
  15. It's 6/24/2018. After a disappointing season, the Sabres have just drafted Rasmus Dahlin #1 overall. ROR was despondent at the locker-cleanout day interview, but is still on the roster. Montour isn't even on the team, yet. I tell you this: 6 years from now, the Stanley Cup will include the following names: Ryan O'Reilly, Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, Evan Rodrigues, Kyle Okposo, Marco Scandella, and Zach Bogosian Additionally, Linus Ullmark will have a Vezina and a Jennings. And for good measure, two players from last year's roster: Kulikov and Carrier, will also be on the Cup. (they could get re-signed as depth pieces, right?) And Brandon Hagel has already been to Final. Sounds pretty good, eh? Sounds like the Sabres win one and lose one, right?
  16. That's the most important part.
  17. Lindy wants his own goal song.
  18. Awareness and strength. That's how defensemen need to play. Looking at you, Sabres.
  19. All the mocks I've seen show a big run on defense early. I take Iginla, Sennecke, Eiserman, Brandsegg in that order. Hope! Use the pick. It's the last time they're picking in the top 15 for over ten years.
  20. I figured Florida would've gotten their game back sooner given the lengthy 3-day gaps between games. But it took a must-win to find their legs again. Still, still lot of game left.
  21. Kulikov had an unmarked Reinhart in the slot for the deflection... and opted for the easy unobstructed glove save.
  22. What's so very odd is how they just plain disappeared for 3 games. They gave up in game 4, perhaps expecting to turn it back on the home fans in game 5. But it's hard to just turn it back on. Final seconds, clock winding down, Panthers up by two... Reinhart-ERod-Okposo / Montour-Kulikov
  23. Stenland going in for a check and then had to dodge the ref who threw himself in front of the Oiler. Hockey is fun.
  24. Skinner way off the post short-side. Reino picks it easily. patiently.
