  1. Going way back.... Rossi - sounds like a member of the Galactic Senate Holtz - sounds like a pod racer Quinn - sounds like a smuggler Sanderson - nope! Not Star Warsy. (update: I hate Sand erson) Askarov - sounds like a planet in the Outer Rim Lundell - sounds like a Rebel pilot who is shot down by turbolasers Holloway - sounds like a Rebel officer Jarvis - sounds like an Imperial officer Hendrix Lapierre - sounds like a bounty hunter Zary - sounds like a helpful pilot you meet in a cantina and go on a side-adventure with
  2. In honor of pick #8, Execute Order... Eight!
  3. Stats, schmats. It's impossible, even for a computer! Let's go, Quinn!
  4. So he's not as good (following the analytics which we've embraced) as Rossi, Perfetti, or Jarvis? Sorry, @LGR4GM.
  5. I guess it came to the question of who drove the offense better: Quinn v. Rossi? My question is --- is Quinn one of the older draftees? I have to do some research, but at first blush it appears so.
  6. Now I'm curious at how ecstatic MIN and WPG are that they have Rossi or Lundell, and Perfetti all available.
  7. Well... the fourth out of the four I was looking at... but still what we need in the pipeline.
  8. If these were 21 year-olds instead of 18 year-olds, absolutely. But it's too much of a crap shoot past the guys you expect to play in the league next season. Otherwise, yeah, I totally agree with you. Drop 5 spots and nab a player too, if you know that another GM loves so-and-so.
  9. Is Kheevyn reading this board?
  10. Give me a line/possession driver who allows Skinner or Olofsson or a crashing defenseman to score at will so it's not all reliant on Eichel. Edit: In the season after next.
  11. At this point, with both the D taken, if we take Jarvis do you frown or hurrah?
  12. Nice. Because I don't like Sand. erson. I'm sure he'll be a good coarse responsible gets-everywhere defenseman for many years.

  14. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen....
  15. Off topic: I thought for sure we were losing him this year as well. Stay frosty, Trebek! You read from a card!
  16. Is it Bettman? Or did the Rangers take Rossi? 🍺
  17. They drank the Kool-Aid Blue Milk that they're really able to compete as a playoff team next season because they made a 24-team field.
  18. Always agree with #1 and #2 picks! I'm good with Rossi first, Raymond, Jarvis, and Quinn. And three of the four are likely to be available if D go off the board earlier. I don't need a sniper-only (Holtz) or a defenseman this year unless he's the second coming of Pronger or Makar.
  19. Agreed to the sentiments on his qualities as a teammate and player (both previously and current). But we've got Okposo playing the role of beloved older guy in a bottom-six/grinder role. Simmonds will find his opportunity elsewhere and best wishes for him in that regard.
  20. That's his salary by year. The cap hit is flat at 1.4/year. The NHL only allows equal annual cap hits since... whenever the Kovalchuk kerfluffle went down... or out of a lockout or last CBA or something.
  21. Ooh. I like that one. Here's another of my rose-color mask lens views: This will be the only top-10 pick the Sabres make (that isn't a lottery win or acquired via trade) for the next 8 seasons. Wait, what the hell... for the next decade. This is fun!
  22. I don't like Sand...erson. I have nothing against Sanderson (or Drysdale for that matter) as the pick except I would value Rossi or Raymond more. This franchise needs scoring forwards in the pipeline in the worst way. (I believe after this season Cozens will no longer be in the pipeline and Mitts will be in Seattle and our list of prospects labeled "scorer" will amount to Ruotsalainen.)
  23. Execute Order Tager-seven!
  24. Selfishly, I like Casey because when he scores I can play the youtube video of Petula Clark's "Downtown" in German... on the other hand... Schmaltz is from Wisconsin and I could refer to him as the The Schmaltz. There are two sides to every Schmaltz. The Schmaltz is in you! I can work with that as well. Gotta have options. This is where my lack of knowledge of Schmaltz's game is a problem. Does he have any grit or net-crashing or punishment to his game? Because if the grittiest guy in our top six is Skinner (who really is only good for retaliatory slashing penalties) then that leaves us weak for when teams like Tampa and Boston start ramping up the intensity in the first round of the playoffs.
  25. So... Sanderson? I guess espn doesn't realize JBot is no longer the GM.
