  1. They even name-dropped Jokiharju as a big piece coming back for their top 4.
  2. The Sabres (again) joined the long ranks of NHL teams that squandered two-goal leads this season. But I think the only one that they've lost was against Tampa. Resilience is good. And UPL saved their bacon along the way in the 3rd.
  3. Yes. Yes, yes, yes on Tuch's forecheck. Great shot, kid. Don't get cocky.
  4. We got a point, but so did they... and we're trying to catch them. Still, a great chance to get 2 with the 4-on-3 PP and draw them closer.
  5. Score here, because if you don't, the Caps are getting a balancing call. (and don't set any picks or hook anyone to negate the PP)
  6. Let's go PP. Dowd is 16 for 18 on faceoffs tonight. Egads.
  7. The Caps game turned around with a shuffling of their lines in the 2nd. It might be time to separate some folks and shorten the bench a bit.
  8. Remember the Alamo Death Star! Keep up the attack. And c'mon JJP-Cozens-Quinn, go get one. Basically, play the 3rd like how Ottawa played on Sunday.
  9. Agreed. I haven't seen the Amerks beyond highlights so I can't say what his style is there. Czechia certainly didn't need him flying off the handle as a forechecker against Switzerland, that's for sure. He was getting to the right spots for defense and offense, so his sense might just be one of those guys who always seems to be in the right-place, right-time without even looking like he's trying. Those are some of the best guys to have.
  10. Some statisticians count everything. I'll bet they count the Dowd and Hathaway hits to close the period as more than 1.
  11. That was Mitts, not VO. And you could call interference on the takedown.
  12. This is a young squad, but HCDG and Okposo and Girgs have had them ready for all their big games recently (outdoors, RJ, the game after the blizzard). They might get beat, but they'll show up. Playing, feeling the breeze on their face, hitting the twine --- a little escapism might be the best thing for their minds.
  13. Was not watching but caught a replay; this was terrifying. It was nerve-wracking just watching the players’ responses. The best news is that team medics and paramedics were there immediately and he’s now getting the best medical attention possible. If any of you have little ‘Spacers make sure to talk and listen and help them process it (and give them a hug).
  14. Exactly. There's a good chance in a few years that Boston or Toronto is the one giving up the home game to play in Buffalo.
  15. Kulich one-on-one vs the goalie misses the net again. No hats. Ends with only 4 points.
  16. Kulich delays to open the passing lane, then a great burst of speed... and skies the centering pass. Misses the open net entirely. No hattie yet. Bit of a rolling puck on replay. Kulich seems to coast/glide a lot off puck (in contrast to Östlund earlier today who is always motoring). But when he wants to go, he's got great speed. And he goes to the net fast.
  17. Yeesh. Czechia now with 9 goals on 21 shots.
  18. Kulich is the intermission interview. That's a sweet sweater. The lion pattern woven into the white portion of the jersey. Nice threads, Jiri!
