  1. Good win. The 7s line looked good in both zones. Tage made a great assist on Skinner's lovely goal, but otherwise couldn't possess the puck or unleash the shot tonight. The Kids are rejuvenated. Girgs and Krebs back in the lineup is important though, because Asplund and Hino didn't generate the pressure/cycling that those two do with Okposo. On defense... I'm ready for Clague back in over Bryson.
  2. Hal Gill is working the crowd -- it's their fan appreciation night. Like when RJ used to do the commentary from in the crowd and Ray would run around. Same thing.
  3. They're purposefully shooting wide so they can stay on the ice. So that VO can bury the ENG. Just to upset people.
  4. Lauzon tugs on Tage's jersey twice, then takes him down on the wall. And he drew Jost's retaliation penalty. And I haven't seen him play poorly. That's the kind of physicality we need from somewhere. JJP gotta get that on net. Quinn! Bulls-eyeing womp rats!
  5. Whoa. Free hand from Lauzon just threw Quinn to the ice. Lauzon even looked around for the call figuring he'd get a hold.
  6. I like chippy Joker. He's happy to give some jabs after the whistle, but not escalate it to take the penalty. I think... was it the outdoor game vs. Toronto last season he was happy to chop away.
  7. Agreed. They used to be a rushing defense with the 4 that made Housley our coach. Now they're heavy but don't possess the puck well or cycle. This is a game the Sabres really could blow open. Nashville's visit to Buffalo in March might be a whupping.
  8. WOOOOOO! Old Dad Kposobi! If you strike him down he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
  9. Dang. That line was doing well, and has been really good tonight. But you can't give opportunities like that. Especially since a shift change against a tired Preds line would've been in the works with another pass. Bad Jost!
  10. Not enough quick movement on that penalty. Can't come out flat like that when you've got the chance to make them chase you all period.
  11. Egad. Mrazek rocked a .200 sv% tonight. That's how you work on your draft lottery odds.
  12. The bun is in your mind. And it's about time the Sabres dial up one of those 7-3 walkaway games as the other team is forced to open up. Nashville has shown they're not very good if they get unstructured.
  13. Dang. They've kept their composure through ups and downs most of the season, but tonight not so much.
  14. Muel negates so many shots.
  15. Ohhhh... that almost snuck through. I thought for sure Tage saw Power trailing and was going to tee it up in the slot for him.
  16. Goalofsson! All he does is add insurance goals.
  17. That's the right call. But then, shouldn't there be a penalty against Jeannot for interference?
  18. Ref just set up a Sabre to get drilled by kicking the puck back toward him as a checker was bearing down. Joker got buried.
  19. That OK-Asplund-Hino line worries me. It just seems disjointed since Asplund has yet to look like a center. Hopefully that jinxes them into a couple goals tonight to wrap this one up.
  20. Great shot, Kids, don't get cocky!
  21. The Kraken are crushing everyone right now. The Sabres last 7 games have included BOS, MIN, WSH (all on terrific runs at the time) for wins, and PHI (6-1 in their last 7), SEA (7-0 in their last 7), and WPG (7-1 in their last 8). It's not always who you play but when you play them. And the Sabres have weathered a vicious, vicious schedule. Gotta get back to playing some teams that aren't just ripping everything up. (Especially as you try to work a goalie back into NHL shape and speed.)
  22. Disappointing to have that period end up tied. Poor on the powerplay, penalty that looks worse from the referee's POV than the TV angle, then UPL lets an unscreened shot that we was fully in position for get through. But the Preds broadcasters were very worried until the penalties started getting called. The Sabres speed was winning handily.
  23. Need some more PP practice. Nashville is reading the obvious pass but back to the point or whipping it around the boards to the far D was open.
  24. If you're going to throw the elbow, try to catch more than the glass. UPL should've had it, then gets spun down. Let's set up a one-timer here like Josi had. But instead of dribbling through... just let Thompson send it past Saaros' ear at 102 mph. Or break a stick.
