  1. Kadri was out of the box so it was 6 on 5. Waiting until very late in the PP to pull Luukkonen was a choice, though. Lafferty smartly kills the PP before they can give up another empty netter.
  2. How many teams do a drop-pass deep into their own zone for every single power play rush?
  3. So many PP passes have nothing on them, and then they'll have one or two lovely passes. Then right back to weak passes that allow easy deflections and breakaway opportunities. Pull Wolf! Make him pass a concussion protocol!
  4. Tage is really struggling tonight. Missed two easy pass receptions. He had to take a faceoff in the o-zone when (Krebs?) got waved out... easiest win of the season for the Flame. Nothing on his passes. He deflected a goal and that's good, but he's their 1C, not Tomas Holmstrom.
  5. Kozak a wild shift. Put into the Flames bench, then dives to stop a goal.
  6. Play it back, keep possession, and that goal never happens. The Flames are winning every single puck battle the last 5 minutes, whether it's a footrace, or just outmuscling the Sabres' stick-waves.
  7. Kozak gets the double shift: Cozens-Tuch and Malenstyn-Lafferty Whatever Thompson's injury is is seriously aggravated right now. Can't even handle a pass.
  8. Tough goal, especially since they basically had the Flames running for 6+ consecutive shifts.
  9. Calgary broadcast just said, "the Sabres have found a different gear." What is happening? Outshooting them 9-2 this period.
  10. That's just it; there's no planning necessary. Trades are hard, because palm trees, but being the Sabres GM is easy. And if any of the RFAs signs an offer sheet -- take the picks. Because that means they don't want to be here.
  11. The refs won't matter if the Bills play with the purpose they showed against, say, Detroit or KC. The Chiefs don't have the weapons to keep up. Go win by 20.
  12. Would it make you feel better if I told you everyone is a year older? 😇 JJP - Cozens - Thompson Benson - McLeod - Tuch Krebs - Kulich - Quinn Malenstyn - Kozak - Rosen (Lafferty) Byram - Dahlin Samuelsson - Power RJohnson - Clifton (Gilbert or equivalent, Novikov) Luukkonen Levi Now, if they get a top 5 pick... he's gotta play. Too young for the AHL, too good for Juniors.
  13. Quantiatively: HC Krueger got 12 losses in a row and Granato lost another 6 in a row when he started, so we know it's at least 18. And GM Sheevyn did hold a press conference about Krueger saying it wasn't good enough on 3/5/2021 when the losing streak was only 5 games, then held on for another 12 days and 7 consecutive losses before the firing. Ruff was allowed 13 losses this year and GM Sheevyn didn't even have to give him the vote of confidence press conference, just lament about palm trees. Qualitatively: To fire Adams? It's not performance based. He listens the owners and shouldn't that be enough?
  14. This is why Sheevyn was shaving up all those dollars in the last 4 years. JJP needs 1W money and Quinn needs 2W money. Trade Greenway (if healthy), Jokiharju, and Zucker at the deadline. Next season, make room for Isak Rosen, Ryan Johnson, Nikita Novikov, Tyler Kozak, and Devon Levi.
  15. Lafferty's salary was also based on his prior production. Last year, he had 13-11-24 in less than 12 minutes/game and the year before that, he had more minutes and also 12-15-27 pts. It's production that dwarfed Zemgus' offensive numbers (who hadn't scored more than 20 points since 2014-15). My 2nd biggest disappointment with production (with the roster as constructed, not how it should have been constructed) this season is Lafferty. Quinn is at least coming around recently.
  16. .... Let's build a fleet of Star Desnoyers.
  17. Please see the new Sabre Wars thread. Is Schnow ... Snoke? I don't have a Snoke yet. We're still only in the early stages of the Rebellion.
