  1. Kulich and Rosén in the same debut game? Yeesh. Two many rookies at once. But I hope they ignite the power play.
  2. The long time ago in a state far, far away Wisconsinite in me recommends a perfect brandy Manhattan with a blue cheese olive. More people need to be turned onto that drink. (But a Wisconsin old fashioned? No thanks. Way too sweet.)
  3. Drat that cable cutting and TNT. This will become radio-only for me once home. But for the moment finishing a Skookum Brewing Memory of Light imperial stout. Is good. I like imperial things.
  4. Well, shoot. Happy (US) Thanksgiving to you all.
  5. Confidence boost? Reward for a goal? When was the last Sabres shot on goal? They went full Alamo Death Star, even unto the OT.
  6. Now we know which defenseman to sit next game, right HCDG?
  7. Joker has to be willing to absorb a hit there and avoid the icing.
  8. It is the Matt Ellis of power plays. But what surprises me is that it doesn't have any grind to it. Ellis was in Detroit. I mean... drop a Holmstrom in front of the net on PP2 and go have fun.
  9. Good score. But... 5-on-3... get it going side to side, take it low... why are you only trying to set up the one-timer from the dot?
  10. They were planning to do a drop-pass rush and mess it up... maybe an own goal.
  11. I remember hearing many in-mouth and lip stitches. Not sure if there was any jaw damage, though.
  12. Now he just needs to fight and throttle Wilson in some sort weird Code garbage. Then assist VO for the empty-netter.
  13. WARNING! NON-STAR WARS MOVIE! Every time someone says his full name I just think the bad cop in First Blood say... "Peterka. John J?"
  14. Meesa JJ Peterka. Meesa your humble goal scorer!
  15. Even your most talented lines need someone who does the boardwork and is just a bit more of a grinder, or just crazy. They often end up having great 3-year runs and then disappear while the superstars do their work. Your Kevin Stevenses. More recently in Toronto - Hyman or Bunting.
  16. Really dark Washington feed or is it the arena?
  17. I like my story for his nickname better.
  18. On the one hand: all of these players are mid-to-late 30s when they had the operation and were already in the "lost a step" category and trying to hang on for a few more veteran savvy seasons. And in some cases (Kesler, Jovo) they already had a ton of heavy wear on those tires. On the other hand: Kane is already mid-30s and has more games played than any of them.
  19. Personally, I'd put Mitts on the top line (at least until the full shield comes off and Cozens can see the puck on his blade again), but if you're trying to jumpstart Cozens, then Tuch/Skinner is usually a good way to go.
  20. Cool. Now go win 39 more in a row.
