  1. Daaaaannngg, that's a lot of Habs fans.
  2. Just as Dahlin did. And hopefully Power is.
  3. Oki-wan Posobi buries it. Also... Benson is not there yet... but dang is he going to be good when the game slows down for him and he gets a bit of adult strength.
  4. Skinner with a good bump/takedown at the blue line to leave himself unmarked for the goal. Woo!
  5. Primeau was great in the first. Major and a weaker one from Levi in the second. Gotta play one heck of a third to get points out of this one.
  6. Gah. Ref lost sight of the puck and blew it dead prematurely.
  7. Skinnerrrrrrrr.... in the net, next time.
  8. On the one hand, it's really good to have a forechecker who can surprise a player with his speed and also isn't afraid to throw a hit. The CBC broadcast is all over the Habs player and wondering what he was thinking. But really, it'd make sense to wonder -- "Wait, a Sabre is going to actually hit me?" But given how Primeau is seeing the puck tonight, Robinson may have just cost them the game despite a good overall effort.
  9. Skinner's got to know that when Power (or Dahlin, et al.) pinch, he's got to pull back and cover a possible breakaway if it gets past the remaining d high. Lucky that didn't turn into a good chance.
  10. 2 years ago. Okposo was right-wall on the PP2 and did well with it to the tune of 8 PPG. The Sabres PP% was 21 that year, above average, and that PP2 was a big part of that.
  11. Seniority. But it should be Rosen on that right side as long as he's up here.
  12. Jost --- at least put it on net! Shooting like an imperial stormtrooper.
  13. The Sabres play better on the road. Channel it into anger.
  14. Primeau's been really good. Annoying, but good.
  15. Ok --- don't waste these 36 seconds. Get the puck, get it going laterally (or from behind the net), and take some dang shots!
  16. Montreal has had a few good turnovers and one good grind shift that didn't lead to anything. The rest of the period (Ray will say this is a good one) has been Buffalo with the puck. But... gotta get the powerplay to get one to make it worthwhile.
  17. Mitts can't deflect one lately. (And a fantastic save.) Road blacks. Watching the CBC. CBC-generated board adverts. It's like a road game online.
  18. Montreal aggressively jumping on our forwards inside the Sabres' blue line and forcing turnovers. Gotta get keep the head up... and if you can break through that line, it could be a nice rush chance.
  19. Robinson goes to the front of the net on his first shirt. That's good.
  20. What I remember of Quinn last season was his spatial awareness and his sense of pace. He was also, like Benson has shown, one of our more aware defensive forwards all last season, if sometimes overpowered by full-grown adults. As in the video @LGR4GM posted above... these isn't another Sabre on the roster who scores the goal against St. Louis, about a minute in, where he simply stops and waits out the goalie, knowing there's no threat to him for at least a couple seconds. Quinn was the straw that stirred the Cozens-JJP line at even strength, and I strongly believe his hockey IQ will allow him to do that once again this year, even as he gets back to full strength on the ankle.
  21. It's time for a nice 16-4 hot streak. Maybe 16-3-1. (I've seen nothing to indicate that is possible for this season's squad, but maybe something just clicks [having to make up for losing Dahlin; Quinn's return; the arrival of Robinson; the powerplay getting absurdly hot; winning a game at home] anything).
  22. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. The temptation will immediately be to reunite JJP-Cozens-Quinn, but I think I'd let the surging JJP go to work with Mitts (moreso than Benson). If all healthy: TNT line, then JJP-Mitts-Greenway, Benson-Cozens-Quinn, and Girgs-Krebs-Robinson/Okposo
  23. The Bruins just got a glimpse of their future. 1 fluke goal, but otherwise being crushed by Levi.
