From the sound of the scouting reports, he sounds like a 3-4th rounder... this sounds like a reach, or perhaps GMTM knows something that we don't?

Murray has not let us down yet. I have no reason to doubt him, and nobody here should either. Nolan has been screwed big time in the past, and he trusted him (contract extension episode arc)... I trust Ted, so therefore I (until given a reason not to) trust GMTM.

I agree with Eleven, dumping Stewart is a bad idea. I see him as a solid 2-3 line winger with size. We need that. Besides, what are we gonna do, dump all players with talent for draft picks? C'mon, no makey sense kimosabe!

Eleven, you are clearly invested. Look at it this way, since you are a season ticket holder, you have free reign to say whatever you want about the team with zero consequence... The only way this schedule could get any better is if he jumbo tron fell to center ice during the opening faceoff of our home opener while all our top 5 draft picks/prospects were taking the opening draw

The best way to look at picking up Spezza or Volchenkov is that we need successful NHL vets to help develop all the young guys on our roster. We are not bringing them in to win now, we are bringing them in for the leadership (which is why we will have to overpay). We have the cap space, why not just do it right? Who knows, maybe in two seasons when we are ready to make a playoff push, they will like it here and have good things to say to other top tier players around the league and we will look more attractive as a free agent landing spot?

He probably likes GMTM, but also knows our cap situation and knows he will get paid here. Also doesnt hurt that he is from Mississauga (as Eleven pointed out)
