  1. MODO will be back. Just when he thought he was out, Sabrespace pulls him back in. He’ll get an offer he can’t refuse. Unlike an Eichel trade deal which apparently is easy to refuse.
  2. Best thread ever.
  3. I said it before merchandise sales will be down. The team as is does not scream “pay to come watch a good show”. It reminds me of Rachel Phelps in Major League.
  4. The fact it wouldn’t surprise me sucks.
  5. I work a long day and first thing I do is go on SS to see the free agent moves. I guess KA doesn’t like RHD or a good team. Jokes on him, we don’t even know what a good team is.
  6. Have to get all the good players off the market before the Sabres get them.
  7. Peterka, Quinn and Power are future Sabres. Laaksonen and UPL have a chance. Maybe the first three join Cozens and Dahlin to form a core. Add in some established vets including a 1C and a good goalie. Who knows.
  8. I bet jersey and merchandise sales take a big hit this year and that makes me happy. It’s crazy to think your season is over three months before it starts. And of all things it could be RJ’s last year.
  9. Buffalo hockey is such a sad thing. Ownership and management should be embarrassed about the last 10 years and next couple of years.
  10. We’ll I’ll prep myself for 11 straight years.
  11. With the first two trades yielding primarily draft picks, is there expectation to get more than one NHL player? Kind of a loaded question.
  12. Do the Sam and Risto trades affect the Eichel trade? If so, how?
  13. His value today is determined by the market today. FLA may have been the best offer today. I do not think this is the best KA could’ve received for Sam. It’s the best he could get today.
  14. Perhaps he thought Sam’s value would go higher the longer he showed what he can do without Jack long term. KA may have turned down mid-season offers on a gamble. Between Sam and Risto I’d say he his 1-1.
  15. It’s not delusional to think Sam Reinhardt is worth more and that at some point teams may have been willing to offer more. It is logical an inexperienced GM may have had better offers at some point and made the wrong call. It’s also logical people justify bad decisions to cope. I don’t do fantasy hockey and the voices in my head say I’m not delusional.
  16. You tell me. Sam Reinhardt, 30 teams, second overall pick, carries the team and produced last season, quiet professional. All last season, trade deadline, expansion and NHL draft. No I do not think KA took the best offer. I think he took the best offer today.
  17. I don’t know what other offers were made. I have a hard time believing that out of 30 teams this is the best anyone would’ve offered. Yes he will be on a one year deal but that one year means different things to different teams. The return and KA’s inexperience go together like PB&J. If KA was an established and experienced GM then I’d say his hands were tied by external things.
  18. Because all we got was a conditional pick and a 19 year old goalie.
  19. I wouldn’t offer the player anything. I would talk to all 30 teams and write their offers down. Then I’d pick the one with the most return. Sam may very well be a rental for FLA but he’s still going to produce beyond the value of what will likely be a mid-20s pick.
  20. 30 other teams and the best we get is a conditional pick and a 7th round 19 year old.
  21. He was a second overall pick and carried the team in Jack’s absence. That Risto got us more of a haul is funny. The fact KA agreed to a conditional pick is disgusting. At best Sam gets us an 11th overall or worse who might turn into an NHL player someday.
  22. I’d laugh if FLA sends him to VAN for a first and top six player.
  23. KA is reminding everyone how awesome at his job he is. I mean did every other team offer less than Florida? How many teams did he even talk to? I’m calling this a lazy trade by KA with no actual proof.
