Overestimating the talent is spot on. I have to believe the lack of substantial moves is because KA thought we’d be an offensive juggernaut that just needs a little better defense. Getting Clifton and keeping Bryson was stupid. Keeping VO just because Quinn is injured is unnecessary IMO. He was scratched and no negative impact resulted. Translation, VO is non essential personnel.

I don’t think they’re lazy. I do think they aren’t following instructions though. They might have an inflated sense of their offensive capability. Could be a train of thought they are skilled enough not to have to get dirty goals.

I would agree and I see where you are coming from but the on ice decision making is ridiculous. Multiple times I have seen TT make an unnecessary and low percentage pass instead of using his cannon of a shot. I totally agree KO is done. IMO he is no longer an NHL caliber player. Girgs is heading in that direction.

Yep, that’s a rebuild. Problem is it took 12 years for the franchise to realize what a rebuild looks like. Us fans are so jaded, rightfully so, that it’s sucks. Looking back, I imagine that three year timeframe is what Darcy meant by suffering.

After the first two losses I said those two losses are essentially not something to worry about at that point. Now I am in the worry camp. Other teams are pulling away and November into December may be a sprint just to catch up. That leaves only about two months or so to pull away and secure a playoff birth.

Yes to all of these responses. Exactly what I thought when I heard the guy say it.

I said this last season. DG is a developmental horse whisperer guy. As an assistant coach under an experienced and successful head coach, the team would benefit IMO. That said, wins and losses are on the players. Not DG fault TT tries to make stupid passes or that Tuch has been irrelevant.

I was listening to a hockey podcast on the NHL Network. The guy said it’s demoralizing for the Sabres players to see a half empty building. Clearly this guy doesn’t get the idea people don’t like spending their money on garbage products.

Things like who the coach puts on the ice and when to pull the goalie are 100% on DG. Players making bad decisions or not finishing on ice are 100% on them.

Sounds like it’s the guys on the ice not finishing and/or making bad decisions. Why then are people blaming the coaching? Coach can’t skate next to them. They need to be big boys and win the game where it matters, on the ice, not the bench.

If he’s injured I still think he drops the gloves like he did. As much as his lack of production pisses me off, he’s a gamer and likely a team leader.

Hurt by what? He was given opportunities and for a while was being built up as the next Sabres starting goaltender. I could understand if one of the other two played equal or worse but he really did get beat out.

What’s the trade value? Not saying we absolutely should but it is an option, maybe. For now keep him in the press box and let’s see how the current tandem do.

Maybe I’m seeing things but when Murray caught the ball and had positive possession, it looked like it broke the plane.

I really like the confidence Peterka has so far this year. Very deliberate in his execution, no hesitation. Cozens is starting to find his game. Fast and creative. Greenway is now one of my favorites. Johnson is a pleasant surprise.
