News outlets should do a better job especially on something like this. I’m not disagreeing with that. Saying preliminary reports are BS in general is ignorant. Preliminary reports using erroneous information is BS. It is understandable why people echoed that perception. Its called history, intent, capability, and ability. Those outlets were the loudest and probably drowned out other more accurate reports. You would be hard pressed to find anyone in the Intel, counterintel, or counterterrorism community who didn’t at first question if this was an accident or done on purpose.

Yes facts do matter. As they come out a better picture of what actually happened will emerge. Was any eyewitness account purposely ignored or suppressed? Did those news stations just have bad sources? Not sure what you are getting at with your last sentence. Never said we are in a final investigative stage. I said preliminary reporting does not have all the information a final investigation would have.

I liked the Greenway Mitts Benson line. Seemed like a good mix of power, skill, and playmaking. At the very least I’d like to see more of Mitts and Benson.

Shouldn’t surprise you. Preliminary reports don’t have every single detail that a final investigative report would have. As more information is obtained, better analysis can happen. Given the time of year, historical international acts, and current world events involving the U.S. it should not be difficult to understand how early reporting thought it was terrorism.
