GDT - LA Kings @ Buffalo Sabres - 12/11/18 7PM MSG
SABRES 0311 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Glad to get a win but do we need that many PP opportunities to get a PP goal? I vote for Sam to PP2 and Sherry to PP1 and Sam to FL2. -
1. Dahlin 2. Eichel 3. Skinner 4. Hutton 5. Risto 6. Ullmark 7. Sam 8. Mitts 9. McCabe 10. Pilut Had to put both goalies because that win streak does not happen with Lehner or the like. Pilut has played well in short time and IMO should stay. TBH I only put Mitts because other people did but right now I could see Sheary taking his place on the list.

He did score two goals. Maybe if we didn’t have two guys carrying the scoring load. I have heard of this myth called secondary scoring. It exists on teams who live in a magical land known to only a few as “Contenders”. Legend has it the Sabres once used this power to defeat mighty foes but was lost when the king and his court dismantled the team in hopes of gaining access to a hidden treasure known as “Franchise Elite Talent”. As the story goes, the Sabres only found the second best treasure. Years later and after enduring great sufferings, the great people of Buffalo realized their heroes were not what had been promised. They live under the onslaught of lesser kingdoms and wonder what have they done to anger the hockey gods. Nobody knows what became of the people or their beloved team but rumor has it they will emerge one day to challenge their enemies and take their rightful place in Lord Stanly’s hall of honor where they will drink ale from his cup. But first this team must find the most elusive of weapons, their heart and testicles.

First period PHL didn’t belong on the same ice. Sabres were creative and relentless. They used the points to move the puck and pinch. This resulted in Jacks second goal. His first was a result of his deceptive speed coming through the neutral zone and opening up across the line. Dman could not transition quick enough to cut the shooting angle. Second period Phl got physical. A few missed calls by the refs I think emboldened Phl’s physicality. This shed light on our inability to counter a physical game. However it was a sloppy play by Sam which led to the SH goal. IMO this is where Phl took our confidence and put it through the meat grinder. Third period Phl didn’t look as physical but the Sabres checked out mentally. Sloppy passing and poor coverage sealed the deal.

I’m Jbot had last year and summer to get who he wanted. Between buffalo and Rochester I think the talent is there. Maybe some of these players need to realize the onus is now on them. Quit missing the net, over passing, and playing a half a game against lesser talented teams. Maybe the right combination is some of the Sabres with some of the America. Obviously since the win streak something is not working. If our secondary scoring guys like Mitts can’t score, give someone else a chance.

I hope he doesn’t see this as another evaluation year. Next thing you know we end up with a bunch of extremely inexperienced but talented players mixed with has beens. You know, the Edmonton way of rebuilding. Oh wait.....

Not sure what the deal is. IMO they started playing bad when Phil started hitting. Sloppy play team wide is to blame for this. With that said there was a lot of talk about good Skinner is and how Bogo is really contributing this year when we were on the win streak. Now we should look at trading them? Sure let’s get rid of our leading goal scorer and the only damn who doesn’t look scared when an opponent gets in their face.

He’ll be back. They always come back.

President Bush (Sr.) Passed Away

The average lifespan of a man in the U.S. is in the mid 70s I think. I guess I can see how older people are more content with mortality. They have a whole lifetime of experience to gain perspective. I imagine maybe some things start to break down at that age and you just kind of have to accept it. -
Not saying reaves made a legal hit but how many times has Wilson injured/almost injured someone? Karma, her stripper name Ryan Reaves. IMO opinion guys like those two are the next to get phased out like the dedicated enforcer.
