  1. Crazy how Edmonton had so many first overall picks and they are in their current situation. Maybe they need GMTM.
  2. Is Khaira originally a Bruin or am I thinking of another player?
  3. No need to delete anything and no offense taken. I enjoy talking about the military. Ups and downs like anything else. I am still in. The Eagle in this case stands for country. Globe is for worldwide service. Anchor for naval traditions. GO SABRES, we need this.
  4. Not sure on the spelling. I instantly think it says Ellis. It is without a doubt the emblem of the USMC.
  5. It’s a U.S Marine Corps Eagle, Globe and Anchor imposed on a skull. Elie wishes his hockey skills were near my GDTs.
  6. Full public audit of the Fed and Fort Knox. Full disclosure on some events that happened in New Mexico and else where.
  7. If they don’t win this one I fall to 1-2 for GDTs on the season. That’s when I know we have problems.
  8. While I want the Sabres to show what they can do against a McDavid led team his absence may be what we need to help get on the right track. That’s if he is too sick to play. Either way here’s hoping they play to their potential not Edmonton’s.
  9. I hope they pretend they are playing TBL. We really need to come out and get some buffer goals against McDavid.
  10. Monday, 14 January 2019 the Buffalo Sabres visit the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place. Game starts at 9:00 PM EST. Oilers are 11th in the Western Conference with a 21-21-3 record. Captain Connor McDavid has 27 goals, 40 assists for 67 points in 44 games played. Impressive considering the dumpster fire that has been Edmonton for a long time. Oilers are 11-10-1 at home and coming off a loss to Arizona. Sabres are 9th in the Eastern Conference with a 23-16-6 record. Captain Jack Eichel has 15 goals, 34 assists for 49 points in 42 games. Sabres are 9-10-3 away and coming off a double loss weekend. A win tonight and Montreal loss would put us back in 8th. Completely doable provided the Sabres play a complete game. The number one matchup we are looking forward to is Eichel/McDavid but don’t forget Risto likes to get under the skin of Lucic. Along with Kassian they bring a physical aspect the Sabres seem to have trouble dealing with offensively. Sabres need to bear down on this first game of a western road trip. Play fast and creative because the Oilers are who they are for a reason. Apologies on the lineup. It’s the best I could do but I don’t think TT is on Jack’s line. Could be wrong. MUST MUST WIN!!! 11. Risto plays hard between whistles which is great. After the whistle when it gets a little gritty he gives a couple body jabs but the kid doesn’t seem the fighting type. Bogo will drop em but it’s not his primary job. Larry is the same. The enforcer or designated tough guy is going away. I do agree some of them need to learn to stand up for themselves/others. I don’t expect Skinner to fight Yandle but I’m all for an for an eye in hockey.
  12. The only one I would change is 2. I’d say 65 because 55 seems rather young. I would also like term limits instead of career politicians. Promotes fresh people with hopefully fresh ideas but I could see former politicians turning into lobbyists. Say three terms total. Not allowed to do three years in the Senate then three in the House. Also, anyone running for POTUS should have a full medical exam, mental and physical done by an independent physician and at the candidate’s expense.
  13. Agreed. When Ovi scores on the PP one timer it’s not always from a perfect angle. All Jack has to do is put it on net. Chances are there will be a rebound. This requires a slot presence and a screen, Sam and Skinner. Once that pass is made a dman needs to move to the right circle. This part is a gamble because if Jack misses that puck is going around the boards so again he has to hit the net.
  14. Sucks to lose but I’ll take a Tampa vs Buffalo game game over just about any other. That was fun to watch until the refs decided they need attention too. We got good goaltending, good defense and forwards moving and creating chances. Lets get that Skinner contract, one or two decent veterans and make this league our you know what. And how about that GDT. Absolutely nailed the opening. I don’t know how we could be angry tonight (today for me).
  15. I’ll make sure you old timers have a good GDT to read the next morning. Edit: Not that young but not that old either.
  16. Nah it’s from a meme about men who wear skinny jeans. Edit: Meant in good fun. My photo has me in plain clothes and better beard. That’ll go up once I can find it. ?
  17. L I made it shortly after the CAR game. I have seen them done after midnight mostly but within 24 hours as well.
  18. I still don’t get what happened to Girgs. It seems Bylsma came in and his impact went to hell. Since then he has been marginalized. Give him a shot at 2C. Worse case he goes back to the third or fourth line. The guy works hard and in the ast showed he has talent. Skinner-Eichel-Mitts Sheary-Girgs-Sam KO-Sobotka-TT ERod-Larry-Pommers We want Mitts to be a center just like we wanted Sam to be a center. Stop trying to force that which will not happen.
  19. Apoligies if this was already posted. Couple years old but I still like it.
  20. Saturday, 12 January 2019 the Buffalo Sabres take on the Tampa Bay Lightening in Buffalo. Game starts at 7:00 PM EST and broadcast through MSG-B and SUN. Tampa has a +58 goal differential and is 15-4-2 on the road. They are 9-1-0 in their last 10 with the most recent victory coming against the Hurricanes who just beat the Sabres. Buffalo is 14-5-3 at home with a +3 goal differential. They are coming off a loss to Carolina as the spiral continues. Not exactly an optimal team to play against as we try to right the sinking ship. As Hutton played against the Canes and Ullmark having a good weekend record I expect the latter to get the start. Below are potential starting lineups. Obviously Tampa has a working formula so I don’t expect much deviation barring injuries. Buffalo on the other hand is struggling to find competent combinations for the middle six so I would not be surprised if we see a slightly different lineup.
