The summers have a way of making me forget the season prior. Time heals the pain. Looking forward to the draft.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency
SABRES 0311 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
We get what we deserve. An easily manipulated populace gets masters, not representatives. Keep in mind this is my theory and I am not trying to convince anyone. I guess mostly it concerns the motivations. If I had to guess this will be another one of those things we debate for decades like JFK, Roswell and how to fix the Sabres. Edit: Personally I am more concerned about what Russia has on campaign members than I am about what they have on Trump. Specifically Don Jr had that meeting. Now we see China playing hardball and KJU meeting Putin. Just a theory but they may be feeling more confident if Russia has shared their knowledge. Same with recent Iranian actions and Maduro holding out. All of these actors are allies with Russia. This is only a theory as I do not know for sure what is true. Mueller was erroneously called an investigation but in reality was an inquiry. An inquiry only determines if there is enough evidence to warrant an investigation into the subject. I believe the reason he indicted other persons is because their charges were outside of his mandate therefore no impropriety on Mueller’s part. Hence why Don Jr was not indicted. Now the Dems have to choose their route. Try to win 2020 through better policies or win by destroying Trumps support. So far I think they are setting themselves up for failure by going after Trump the person instead of developing more appealing policies for the voters. I would like to see what percentage of voters changed their vote due to Russian troll farms. According to the numbers HRC won the popular vote despite troll farming. -

Here is what I think happened. In an effort to curry favor with Trump some campaign members did meet with Russian personalities to acquire information. HRC campaign did the same but through Perkins Coi, Fusion GPS and eventually through Steele. That’s another conversation. Trump has a habit of surrounding himself with dumb people; papadopolous, Bannon, sons. Those individuals specifically require validation for their personalities. Papadopolous in particular tried to build himself as an “international man of mystery” and learned the hard way how that game is played. IMO there may have been attempted but failed collusion of staff members but not at the direction or outright knowledge of Trump himself. Essentially dumb people trying to do things to feed their ego and curry favor with Trump. Russia did use social media to effect the election. I do not think this was done in concert with the campaign. Not because the campaign turned it down but because it was unnecessary and would’ve jeopardized the activity. I do question the effectiveness of their activities. Attempted interference and actually swaying the election are two different things. If their social media activities did sway the election I’ll hang my head at the idea we rely that heavily on Facebook to decide who we vote for. Then again what do I know. -
This thread is perfect for @New Scotland (NS).

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

Those two got theirs by executive order or something. The actual process is let’s say time consuming. I would imagine there is some expedited process though. The actual members likely have high enough clearances but I imagine they leave a lot of the grunt work to staffers. As I think about it more the members likely want the report downgraded so their underlings can read it, share it with attorneys and build a case. You should be concerned about unredacting and potentially declassifying/downgrading some of the info concerning Russia. That’s just my opinion though. I would be willing to bet some of that information is well beyond the need to know of staffers but within the scope of the elected members of the committee. -

Sounds like the issue is not with redaction but classification. The public report is not classified because of the redactions. Unredacting would force an upgrade in classification. If the committee members would be restricted in their access it means they do not possess the required clearance and/or kneed to know which are two different things; both required for access. Therefore, it sounds like the committee wants the AG to downgrade the classification of the report to a level equal to that of committee member's clearance. Not everything can be downgraded. I assume the committee members know this. The POTUS has the authority to declassify as he sees fit. However this should not be applied simply at the request of the legislature because national security concerns must be taken into consideration. If the members do not possess the clearance and/or need to know its on them, not the AG to rectify. -
The Venezuela issue would be incredibly messy. I see it as another Iraq/Afghanistan situation where we have the Venezuelan military, cartels, probably paramilitary elements, and a civilian populace that would look to us for food and protection. Essentially another nation building campaign. Not to mention third country involvement. I haven’t even thought of the terrain.

Per CNN: Pompeo takes a detour to undisclosed location. I wonder if this has anything to do with the carrier group we just moved. Edit: Trip was to Iraq. He reaffirmed our commitment to Iraqi sovereignty amid heightened Iranian threats. -
Thank you very much.

Anyone know of a gun range in WNY? Looking to go shooting this summer and I usually go to Niagara Gun Range. Not a bad place. The occasional younger person shooting a shotgun from the hip. Just looking to see what else is out there. Thanks.

Hey everyone. This thread is dedicated to U.S. foreign policy regarding South and Central America. There is a lot to talk about concerning migrant activity, Venezuela and third country involvement. The reason I am creating separate threads for each geographical region is to make searching for information and discussion on specific topics easier. As our foreign policy differs by region/country, it can be easy for conversations to drift if all in one thread. As always please let me know if this helps.

I thought there was a thread for trade ideas and speculation.

That’s one of those areas that seems like it would hurt more than others. I always thought the inside elbow would but it was about two inches below for me that stung.

I haven’t gotten any since the current order came out, 2010 I think. I got the wife’s name on my forearm and we are still married so it’s a win win.

You can actually get in trouble if you get a sunburn which inhibits your ability to execute your daily duties. At least that's what I got told one time. Luckily I just sit inside refreshing Sabrespace.

Some people have a bunch of small tattoos as part of a theme, some have single large tattoos and others have a bunch of unrelated tattoos but try to tie them together physically instead of by theme. I chose the latter.

I have what the Marine Corps considers a full sleeve on my left arm. However there is plenty of room for more. One on my right tricep too.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency
SABRES 0311 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
I said what I said because I'm pissed off about what this has become. Trump is not a perfect person, very far from it. I will say the same for myself. I was angry that our election came down to those two. I felt like it would be a decision of the lesser of two evils. Since then he brought KJU to meetings but gets blasted because they haven't denuked yet. He wants to build a wall because physical barriers, when coupled with manpower and technology, do work and gets called racist. I didn't say every person who aligns left. I said it about her specifically. The world will not end in 12 years and IMO it is scare tactics just like the ones that led us down Bush's road post 911. I do want a better planet to leave my kids than the one we have now. I also want to make sure there is a way to provide them good health care without having millions of dollars. Seeing as we agree on that we can debate how to get there which is what I think is supposed to happen. I said what I said because there are two sides to a coin. If people have that much disdain for Trump they need to look at other people too. If anyone thinks this will end when Trump is not president they are wrong. All of this is setting precedence. As for why I do what I do, it has no bearing on anything I say here. But in response to your question I will give it my best. I think our country's history is one of perseverance; Great Depression, Civil War/Reconstruction, Civil Rights, so on. We do take in people looking for a better life and provide aid monetarily and physically throughout the world. Our landscape is diverse and beautiful and our people descend from those who had the courage to tell the most powerful King and country to go to hell. I don't want my kids going to the same places I did so I stick around hoping to see it through as unrealistic as it might be. I think its awesome that one way or another we as a people will get through this and be stronger for it. I don't do my job because I think we are perfect with a perfect history. I do it because although we had dark times we have shown to be remarkable. Its in defense of my children's opportunity to be better than me, not in defense of elected people who act like they know better than you or I. They simply have the stomach for it. I hope that makes it clear where I stand on my country and its people. -

Ok bud you do what you have to. I'll take it with a grain of salt from a guy who thinks Benghazi is non issue when the last Dem candidate peddled lies and said what difference does it make. BTW she did successfully defend an accused child rapist by tearing into the kid. You can listen to a video of a conversation she had following the trial where she laughs about the ordeal. As far as Biden goes, if it was your daughter he was touching like that I doubt you would defend him. Maybe I was out of line with my AOC comment. I guess we will see if I was right or wrong in 12 years when the world ends. Her words not mine. -

Maybe you will get Biden in 2020. The guy who just grabs them everywhere and sniffs their hair. I’m glad HRC didn’t win. You talk about morality, the woman got a child rapist off and pushed a lie about why four Americans died in Benghazi. Now you guys have Omar and the window licker AOC as up and comers. Keep virtue signaling for your masters. If you want to know why people are going hard right it’s an equal and opposite reaction. -
Nice check.
