Yeah. I hit 17 this summer and reenlisted last summer (at 16) for the last four.

My first question is anybody planning to attend a Sabres game in California next year? I plan on taking the family to all three since we will finally be back in the states, hopefully for good.

Rolston was my joke. "Sounds familiar" eludes to how we thought Bylsma and Housley could get it done based on their histories.

Rolston. Sounds familiar.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

Is this the new deplorables? Is the mid-level bureaucrat Rep Omar? As to the taxes I will not try to defend him on something I cannot speak to as well as I can other things. I do think if I am paying income tax so should corporations making a little more than me. -

Agree with the above. I think the first person people need to demand better education is from themselves. That and I wouldn’t be surprised if some parents were lacking in taking an active role in their kid’s development. Mueller Report should be out this week. I take that as new material for everyone to skew and argue about. No way it gives any definitive answer. Hope I am wrong. -

If it ever comes to that point then peaceful means would have failed. Our ancestors realized this. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. -
Never mind, dumb question. EDIT: That’s it. Laugh it up.

If Skinner would’ve signed before today would it be taxable income for this year?

Playoffs are a lot more intense and physical than the regular season. I wonder how the Sabres would’ve done if they made it in.

I see where you are going there. It’s an interesting scenario. If it came to that I wonder what the sides would be, military response and how it would impact foreign countries. -
Sam Bennet looks like he should be on some watch list with that mustache. If a red dot pops up on a map of Buffalo next time the flames are in town you know why.

How do we stop it? Please don’t say enter the quantum realm. -
Just saw Kadri’s crosscheck on DeBrusk. Would like to have seen Chara cave his face in.

If not Skinner which guy do you think we go after?

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch

That new show Warrior looks interesting. Commercials say it based on the writings of Bruce Lee. I’ll look into it and get back. -
Watching what I think is a replay of Tor/Bos game 2. It’s a wild and woolly game. I don’t remember enjoying non Sabres playoff hockey this much. Good matchups all around. I think someone needs to remind Tampa it’s the playoffs though. Matthews seems quiet so far this series but Marner is going to work.

Different but related issue: I just read a response to Trump’s tweet about sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities. As you can imagine those responses can get “spirited”. Here is a comment from a woman in a conversation with another tweeter, not me I don’t have Twitter. 7h “My response was to a racist comment I received. When you hate another person because of their nationality, that's racism: prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior” Problem: Nationality, race, ethnicity and religion are all different things. Example: Nationality: Kosovo Race: Caucasian Ethnicity: Serbian Religion: Christian-further divided into sect Example: Nationality: Afghanistan Race: Asian Ethnicity: Tajik- further divided into tribe Religion: Islam - further divided into sect Example: Nationality: USA Race: Black Ethnicity: Akan - African ethnolinguistics number in the thousands Religion: Christian - further divided into sect There is a level of stupidity that makes meaningful discussion difficult to have. Uneducated people running around with their emotional reactions and virtue signaling. Look what’s happening with JJFIVEOH right now. One of our own accused of a racist comment out of delusion. -

I agree nationalism in its most extreme results in violence against entire groups of people. I say again though, not every nationalist fits that mold. What gives nationalists a bad name are those idiots who promote it as a racial issue like white supremacists. I think @Scottysabres is trying to say he puts our laws ahead of the migrant’s situation, not survival of white people against Hispanic people. IMO his views on liberals in this matter are tied to your question on sanctuary cities. American state officials are aiding and abetting people breaking our laws. In the short term these people get to stay in the U.S. but always looking over their shoulder scared of being caught. The answer to that is not abolishing ICE, it’s fixing the immigration system and looking at what is causing illegal immigrants. @LTS and I have discussed this and I think we’re able to see eye to eye on some things. Conservatives are not innocent in this either. I’m more worried about what is happening with our political discourse and what that can lead to. This race and immigration thing along with guns has become so polarizing as if it is by design to keep us divided. Sorry about the length. -

No expert here but I think there is a relaxation in applying federal laws regarding immigration. There is probably little support systems and early warning of ICE operations. IMO they are bad because it sets examples of not properly applying federal law which could be applied to other issues in the future. It also demonstrates a bad example in general for the rule of law. -

Definition of nationalism 1: loyalty and devotion to a nation especially : a sense of national consciousness (see CONSCIOUSNESS sense 1c) exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranationalgroups The Difference Between Nationalism, Patriotism, Sectionalism, and Jingoism Nationalism has a number of near-synonyms, each of which carries its own distinct meaning. Patriotism is similar insofar as it emphasizes strong feelings for one’s country, but it does not necessarily imply an attitude of superiority. Sectionalism resembles nationalism in its suggestion of a geopolitical group pursuing its self-interest, but the group in question is usually smaller than an entire nation. Jingoism closely resembles nationalismin suggesting feelings of cultural superiority, but unlike nationalism, it always implies military aggressiveness. My interpretation of old Webster is that nationalism implies putting your country and it’s culture above all others. It implies a sense of superiority which I get is debatable but if our country wasn’t better in general terms why do people risk their lives to come here? Anyway the point of this post it to point out a nationalist and white nationalist are not the same. Also, just because we have raging idiots like the KKK and Aryan Brotherhood claiming to be nationalists it doesn’t make others racist. I would think a nationalist would love their country to the point of understanding it is a conglomeration of cultures making up a unified nation of states. I get not wanting general vilification though. Anyway this is between you two so I’ll see myself out. -
