  1. Saw a few episodes on a flight, it was awesome. Sopranos prequel series coming out, same creator from the original Sopranos.
  2. If it's not that, and it's not stealing thunder from other notable events in the NHL, I'm curious as to what you believe is the reason for the delay; it seems like you also believe Granto is a done deal.
  3. Feel like press conferences are usually announced for the dat by 11am or so, so nothing today it appears.
  4. I was really hoping that wasn't us. Everything other 'insiders' have been reporting contradicts this idea that the Sabres are waiting for a Eichel deal to announce the head coach.
  5. Off day on the SC Final...gonna go out on a limb here and predict todays the day.
  6. Meh. They might get lucky, we'll see.
  7. Montreal is a .500 team and has had luck and goaltending. Team A: 24-21-11, 18th in the league. 159 GF (17th), 168 GA (18th), -9 GD. Team B: 36-17-3, 8th in the league. 181 GF (8th), 147 GA (6th), +34 GD. One of these is clearly the better team, and has proven it over 56 games; the other is about as average as you can possibly be, even below average/lucky. Looking forward to it. So far so good. This happens every so often...Edmonton vs Carolina, Rangers vs Kings, Flyers vs Blackhawks, Devils vs Kings...if you put in a full regular season of dominance and lose to a team that just gets lucky and has some timely goaltending, that sucks.
  8. In other news... If this really his the fan a-la Carolina Panthers then I wonder if so many people get fired and the Hawks are out of the Eichel sweepstakes
  9. You seriously don't see the difference between a young kid with his career on the line battling a billion dollar corporation vs yourself telling an anonymous internet forum?
  10. Figured it wouldn't make it past the first page
  11. Don't like either team, but I'll go with Tampa. They deserve it, and I like Montreal less.
  12. 23. Had a chance last week to chat with new Columbus head coach Brad Larsen, who was promoted from within. One of the things we discussed was how incredibly difficult it can be to move from assistant coach to head coach on the same team. You go from good cop to bad cop, and players can see that as phony. Rod Brind’Amour is one of the very few who made it work. From Friedman's 31 Thoughts
  13. 10. I think New Jersey would consider moving the fourth-overall selection for a good, young defenceman. From Friedman's 31 Thoughts
  14. 5. Last week was quieter on the Jack Eichel front, but I’d expect that to get going once again when Buffalo hires its head coach. Incumbent Don Granato and Rick Tocchet are among the contenders. 15. [quote] 2. This is what I can tell you about the rumours that Matthew Tkachuk wants out of Calgary: When the news about Seth Jones got around, no one was thrilled it had leaked, but no one denied it. Same for Oliver Ekman-Larsson being available and Dougie Hamilton free to talk to other teams. With Tkachuk, there’ve been firm denials. I do believe the Flames refused to include him in any Pierre-Luc Dubois trade talks last season. 5. 16. [quote] ...allege the Blackhawks covered up sexual assault allegations from 2010 against then-video coach Brad Aldrich. In 2013 — after he’d left the Blackhawks — Aldrich was convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a high school student. He was sentenced to nine months in prison and five years of probation; he’s now a registered sex offender. Vincent said Bowman was one of four people he reported the allegations to, along with McDonough, Senior Vice-President Al MacIsaac and mental skills coach James Gary. We are at a time in the hockey calendar when general managers are extremely visible. There’s the expansion draft, entry draft, trades and free agency. You’re in front of the camera an awful lot.
