  1. @NHLCanes The team also announced that Joe Nieuwendyk has resigned his position as pro scout and advisor.
  2. Fwiw I didn't notice any in the last 20 years. Could be wrong though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IIHF_World_Under_20_Championship_Directorate_award_winners Probably the best combination of winning players since Karlsson and Tavares did it.
  3. https://www.expressen.se/sport/hockey/han-tvingas-att-flytta-till-staden-som-gud-gomde/
  4. That quote is from Mike Weber who played with Dahlin, btw. He has a ton of great quotes in there, definitely worth the read
  5. One that I'm not even sure how you would answer honestly. Short of going back and finding every MVP and checking where they ended up
  6. Bettman reads all the numbers out of order
  7. It's pretty rational honestly. Dahlin is legit, and we don't get nice things.
  8. Why is this the number thread now
  9. Didn't even remember the name. The Canucks look like they might really have something there
  10. @SabresProspects Rumored to soon be joining the #Sabres, Lawrence Pilut has been named 2017-2018 SHL Defenseman of the Year.
  11. Hoping it's #26. Idk why but I don't like the #8
  12. Because we want to have fun....
  13. You're really gonna be upset that we have threads dedicated to the 3rd time in franchise history we're selecting 1st overall?
  14. May be due to recency bias, but I'm taking McDavid
  15. A center is the most important part of any team. McDavid, Matthews, and Eichel are 100% of the time going ahead of Dahlin. The only real debate is Laine, who I believe would go ahead of Dahlin simply because offense is sexy, and he is projected to be the next Ovechkin; which he's done a great job of so far We're living in banana-land now. Give me a choice between McDavid vs [Any Defenceman] in their prime and I'm taking McDavid, let alone Chara
  16. I would say so, yes. Keep in mind Dahlin will be only the 3rd defensemen selected 1st overall in the last 20 years, and only the 14th ever since the draft began in 1963. So that's 13/55 = 24% of the time the first overall pick is a d-man. We can narrow that down even further because most of those happened earlier in the draft history. A total of 6 d-men have been selected 1st overall since 1990. 6/28 = 21%
  17. 2014: #1 2015: #3 2016: #3 2017: #1 Dahlin is not going ahead of a forward with comparable hype.
  18. He was laughing the entire time he answered that question too And Terry Pegula just called in as 'Terry from Pennsylvania'. He's answering questions now
  19. Ah alright, I see what you're saying. Yeah my mistake. It would be 152[1-7] (Ottawa) 152[8] Buffalo, 152[9] Vancouver
  20. Right but all I did was take 4 specific permutations to illustrate a point. If I had assigned them like you did, 152[1-3], 152[4-6], 152[7-9] the example would still be the same, there would just be more possibilities involved
