So he would have screwed over the Pens. How is that realistically an option for him? 'Hey, thanks for all the Cups guys, but go fck yourself. By the way, can't wait to play here next year!'
-
Huh? The Pens protected Murray. They didn't protect Fleury Again though you pay for future, not past performance
-
What choice did he have? Either waive it and start somewhere else where you can be the face of a franchise, or sit behind Matt Murray all year. Even if you wanted to do him a solid, overpaying players for past performances is a surefire way to end up mismanaging all of your assets. Looking at you, Chicago
-
I mean you can extend him, you just don't have to shell out $7M for it McPhee: Marc, let's talk extension Fleury: Sure, I was thinking somewhere around fi.... McPhee: Seven! Same here! Wow, it's crazy how much we're alike, right? Wanna grab a drink later Fleury ...sure?

lol at Nylander's 18pt projection I'm so stoked for Oloffson. Dude is potting 15g+ this year easily

These threads trigger my fan-ptsd -
After next season. He'll be 37 when this extension expires
-
Apparently the goalie market is really ratcheting up. Then again, it is George McPhee
-
I'll be in Puerto Rico in less than a week ?

My dad thinks it's steroids

The lifestyle and going broke I get, but that's applicable to every sport. Thought about the sample size, but it's always the big name guys that are doing this in the NFL. It's never some dude off the practice squad, it's always some Pro Bowler or key piece to a team
-
Why does the NFL have to suck. NBA offseason is just a reality TV show. MLB and NHL? Just big free agents and trades. NFL? Drugs, domestic abuse, sexual assaults...every year too.

Alright so it seems like at the very least, we're all in agreement for a Saturday afternoon game. There's two of these in February February 9th, 1pm, vs Detroit February 23rd, 1pm, vs Washington Ones colder, worse team. Ones little warmer, better team. I'm good with either, just thought I'd throw both options out there We can certainly split between, but IMO being altogether is much more fun. Plus, meeting in the concourse coming from the 300s to the 100s is harder than just all meeting from the 100s I'll bring an ipad and you can skype in

Found this pretty interesting: I read an article awhile back that claimed Ken Holland was a fantastic GM before the cap, and he's been a garbage one since. Well, before the cap in 2003-2004, the Red Wings salary cap was $78M. For reference, the cap this year will be $79M. Even worse? Adjusting for inflation, the Red Wings cap today would be $106M https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/8yfsox/nhl_salary_cap_has_finally_caught_up_to_red_wings/

So then he's not Danny O'Regan
-
Well he scored 25 pts in 50 games last year so yeah I'd say he made an impact He also scored 51 pts in 66gp last year, and 7pts in 15 gp this year in the AHL.

UPDATE: Sam Reinhart signs 2-year extension -- $3.65MM per year

Between him and Barkov I swear your 2nd team is Florida -
To get this straight too, the Coyotes got a better prospect for taking on a cap dump than the Sabres did for a top 30 center in the league...

Alright so I'm going to be out of the country for 10 days starting next week, let's make a decision on this thing. We have two choices A) Go through TW again; TW has been very accommodating, the seats are amazing (which I like because I like to make this event special), and it's a reputable source so we know what we're getting B) Go through some sort of StubHub and get cheaper tickets; the tickets will be cheaper, but the seats won't be nearly as unique, and it will be much harder to get all of us in the same grouping From the tone of my posts you can clearly tell which way I lean, but I'm willing to listen to all arguments. On Monday let's hold a vote, and wherever the majority leans, we'll do that. Sound good?

He added Hjalmersson, and Goligoski, which I liked. Drafting Keller and Chyrchun were good moves, and so was getting rid of Domi. He's also been decently patient with Strome too. I don't know, it just seems anytime the Coyotes make a move, they're looking only at the numbers, and not at building a team.
-
Karlsson hasn't been traded yet. And, honestly, I believe by extension the rest of the dominoes haven't fallen in the NHL yet. I think Botterill has one more move up his sleeve, but everyone's waiting on Melnyk and Yzerman to finish their dance

If it cost us unloading a prospect equal to Hinostroza to get rid of Okposo's contract, which in all honesty is really the only worrisome one, then I wouldn't want to do that deal anyways
