  1. Does UGA sell beer at their games?
  2. We were the latest to do it, and probably the most blatant
  3. Exactly Well yeah the ceiling is the same in any rebuild, it's a Cup. ? It's the likelihood of that ceiling, that's the argument
  4. A great point I don't think anyone would characterize Lou Lamoriello as risk-averse
  5. The Oilers don't have a culture problem, they have a talent problem because Chiarelli is a moron and traded away the MVP for a 2nd pairing d-man, a top 6 winger for a fringe prospect, and signed a waste of space to play top 6 minutes and anchor down a generational talent at the sweet tune of $6M plus a year. The Oilers tried their best to have a good ol' culture change by bringing in a Cup winner in Lucic and removing pieces they swore were rotten. Well Eberle and Hall had monster seasons, Lucic still sucks, and the Oilers still suck I don't think the Bills removing everything or not has anything to do with it. The Bills undoubtedly had what is defined as a culture of losing. Other than Cleveland, I can't think of a more losing culture there is. McDermont came in and changed that, in 1 season.
  6. It didn't take a genius GM to know not to trade for Robin Lehner, or to not hire Dan Byslma, or to not sign Kyle Okposo, or to not rely on Zemgus Girgensons in the top 6
  7. The Leafs didn't purposefully come in last to get Auston Matthews?
  8. McDermont did it in a year. McDavid came in and they immediately made the playoffs. The Leafs tanked and then immediately made the playoffs. The Devils, with the apparent cancer that caused issues in Edmonton that is Taylor Hall, made the playoffs this year, lead by Taylor Hall
  9. Then we should have gotten rid of him and others. In fact, that was the first thing Botterill did, no? If you have existing, marginal players, like Marcus Foligno dictating the mentality of your team, then your coach sucks and your gm is bad. I just don't buy that changing a culture is so insurmountably difficult that it is the thing to point at and say the tank didn't work. Teams change the expectation of winning from a season to season basis all the time, and in every type of situation.
  10. We lost that culture? With what players that we changed out did we possibly have that culture still? You think Ryan Miller and Vanek expected to win that season? As soon as the tank ended by the way, they brought in a bunch of new bodies that all, to a man, expected to win. They just sucked and we chose a garbage coach.
  11. Why is it any harder then? What prospects did we lose in order to tank? What draft picks? What solid, young players? What pieces did we lose in tanking that were vital to us going forward?
  12. It's not like we didn't have the assets to build from scratch, we just did it poorly. We had enough draft picks and currency to do anything we wanted, and we got all that from the tank
  13. There are way, war worse things thrown around on a daily basis around here.
  14. I hate these debates, I really, really do. We've done them so many times and really it boils down to this. The point of the tank was to give yourself a better shot at high end talent, to make winning easier and more sustainable. That's it, nothing more. Is anyone seriously going to say Jack Eichel doesn't do that?
  15. So you admit the rebuild and the tank are two separate things
  16. The problem for me is, and I would imagine most tankers feel the same way, is that the tank did exactly what it was designed to do, and judging it based off of anything other than that is just nonsense in my opinion. It was part of a rebuild effort, and it was the only successful part of it. Seriously though, that thing is an abomination. Say it with me, we want dark backrounds and bright font! please
  17. Allen got time with the 2's today, and judging by the rotation of the QBs over the last few days, it seems likely he'll spend the whole day with the 1's tomorrow https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-7-observations-from-2018-buffalo-bills-training-camp-day-14
  18. It seems to have worked out pretty well for the NHL's schedule strategy; playing a home-and-home with every team in the league
  19. And the faster the game gets, the harder it is to teach him to go through his progressions. Has there been a QB of recent memory that was taught to do this?
  20. We get on there 5 times this year https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2018/08/13/your-2018-19-nhl-on-nbc-tv-schedule/
