Grigorenko played 25 games, Myers and Foligno we knew were being traded, I don't think anyone ever saw Larsson, McCabe, or McNabb as anything more than role players. I mean, of course he wants to play and wants to win. What do you want him to say? I want to sit and I want to lose?
-
Eichel might actually want to be here too. It was very evident Reinhart and Ristolainen did not. I'm not saying Jack doesn't want to be here, but I think Adams can say all of what he has about culture and getting people that want to be here and all he has to do is point at Risto and Reinhart as examples. Agreed. For the bold, he also likely won't play a lot of this season anyways.

Very good point

It would be a really interesting rabbit hole to go down...Eichel probably plays half the season at best, right? After that his NMC kicks in and the return is likely a lot less...I keep wondering where there's some scenario where we end up with Eichel for the rest of his contract with these young guys coming in and we actually have a playoff team in a year or two.

I don't think it is at all either, just pointing out the slight difference in the tank in 2014-2015 and this one; at least that is how Adams sees it. Waiting for the Eichel trade to go through, but I do want a thread about comparing that team and this one, and how Tank/Rebuild 1.0 faired vs Tank/Rebuild 2.0. Technically, Tank 1.0 was successful, but the drafting and building afterward was a failure.

We did have good young players, I've seen your posts. Were they playing in the NHL that tank season, like Dahlin, Mittlestadt, Cozens, and possible Quinn will be? Looking at that 2014-2015 roster, the best young talent I see on their that we thought had staying power were Zemgus and Ristolainen, Risto being the one people actually thought we be something.
-
No, he didn't. He was a 14th overall pick. I'm not going to debate with you on this team being different than that team. I've read your posts, they're good arguments. I feel it's not the same.
-
I mean it is and it isn't. I think they get the tank they want while at the same time letting the kids play as much as they can, which is also what they want.
-
Grigensons didn't touch Mittlestadt, Cozens, or Quinn. Yup. I don't really like that approach, but we'll see.
-
It really sounds like Adams way of evaluating players is to give them as much playing time as humanly possible and see what happens, regardless of age or experience. That seems...very dangerous. I don't think in 2014 we had any young talent playing on the team. Adams sticking point seems to be that we're not tanking, we're just evaluating young talent.
-
Yup, that'll do it.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, of value will be said here.

Mitts and it's not even close. Tage is not a good hockey player.

Might as well be lol but yeah I'm pretty sure neither of them can get up and deplore fans' treatment of Jack when they've lead that parade for years.
-
Was it Harrington or Hamilton that were always talking ***** about Eichel, Reinhart, Kane, Bogosian, and ROR? Or was it both?

A one year tank sounds a lot better than a two year tank.
-
Well we were when we got Jack, but yeah I know they changed them since. I believe that's what you're referring to as 'before', meaning the most current lottery in which we won Power. If I'm reading you correctly then, tanking sounds more incentivized than it used to.

Trash Rating Pi Made-up. Edit: Obviously just screwing with you, Pi 😉

Didn't they change the tank rules too? If we come in last, we're not guaranteed to get Savoie either right?
