  1. Realistically could we afford him? Offer sheeting him would cost us four 1st round picks. And, that's on top of paying him the 10.5M/year he wants. I think it's much more likely he takes a bridge deal and hits UFA sooner
  2. It might have been Military Appreciation night or something in retrospect Athens is amazing. Nothing too crazy but man everyone was so friendly and the atmosphere is incredible. Never seen full living rooms brought out to tailgate before. One t-shirt shop gave out free mimosas and bloody mary's, and let us drink our own drinks inside. Made a UGA fan out of me for sure We're doing another NCAAF game this year. Nothing beats that atmosphere, and having it on a Saturday is so much better than a Sunday. Thinking either Clemson or Notre Dame
  3. Surprised you're not used to that Liger. When I went to the UGA game they played the anthem, two other patriotic songs randomly during a tv timeout, the halftime show had it's own flare, and they went around the stadium and called out every single branch with a special ceremony
  4. Liger if you routinely have the chance to set our draft right with our GM by God man take the chance
  5. That is true Really? I mean maybe I guess. We did throw stuff at Bledsoe's car when he left
  6. I really doubt Buffalo fans or anyone in that city would treat him negatively
  7. 1) DJ Smith, Keefe, Benoit Groulx 2) Trade Risto for one 3) 8x7.5 4) Trade his ass 5) Trade Risto for top end talent 6) Find a goalie coach
  8. Sure. But 5 year contracts are given to coaches as a sign of faith. It says we are invested in you, and we will not cut you so soon if you struggle early. That is why they give them out
  9. I've laid out my position previously. 5 years is a heavy investment What is this with the black and white. I get anything can happen. I've said they are less likely to do any of the actions you've listed above given that investment though
  10. Again I understand relative to his worth it's nothing. It is still $5M, and you don't become wealthy continuously making bad investments Regardless of the money, just look at the term. 5 years is a significant term investment
  11. I'm not saying $5M dollars kills the Pegulas or something
  12. That is the first 3 goal lead they've blown all year too
  13. They hired Rex and Byslma to 5 year deals and fired them after two. Clearly they aren't afraid to throw money around, but that doesn't mean repeating that mistake is a good idea Repeatedly hiring and firing coaches is not a good look for a franchise IMO
  14. I think he'd have to be Housley bad to get fired in 2 years. And I don't think he will be. I think it's more likely he goes 3 years .500 or so with one playoff berth, just like he did in Edmonton. Management/owners say that's good enough and he still has term left, so we stick with good enough I don't want good enough. I think it's entirely possible to go and get someone new who can take us further. But maybe McLellan is good and it works out. I hope so, but he's not my preferred choice obviously
  15. You invest $25M into someone, and it's the 3rd time in 4 years you've done it, and you're still paying the other two, are you likely to fire that guy after a short while?
  16. They are less likely to terminate someone sooner if they're that heavily invested in him. So if he is bad, then we'll likely have him for longer It makes the franchise look like we don't know what we're doing if we give yet another guy a 5 year deal and get rid of him in less than those 5 years. I'm perfectly aware I'm not Terry Pegula by the way
