  1. That is the key. When healthy. With Gorges and Bogos history they are going to get hurt. We have no depth.
  2. I noticed it and it is very possible. Lehner doesn't deserve to start. We can keep saying he has to work himself back into game shape all we want. Problem is he was average at best before he got hurt. We are not a playoff team. And that isn't a bad thing at this point. Realistically, our defense and goaltending is worse than last year. A couple injures, which we already have to our defense, and we are a lottery team. Again, is that a bad thing at this point? Murray knows he has work to do. He has dine a nice job building is a forward group we can grow with. Now he has to do the same with the defense and goaltending. I don't think he ever thought Lehner was the next Hasek. The pick we traded for him was 2-3 years away anyhow - at best. I think he will get himself back into being a serviceable GT. If he is better than that great.
  3. LB if you are calling it quits I think your final post should be what changed on this board over your 10 years that made you reach this point. A valued opinion might help bring the board back to what you remember it being like. I have only been around 3-4 years but I have also felt a change in here. Especially in the last year.
  4. Most likely be will be injured when he could have been called up.
  5. Just a random post that I don't really know where to post it - why do the schedule makers have us playing Tampa 4 times in the first 15 games? I normally take the family to both Tampa games and kind of sucks that both games down here are so early in the season.
  6. I think Ennis. He has survived the tank, became a better player during that shitstorm, and should thrive with new linemates. The new guys will respect that he has been here since day 1 and the guys that have been here with him already respect him. May not be the overall next player but i think he is team mvp at the end of the year.
  7. I am guilty of misspelling Sabres. That was embarrassing. I blamed spellcheck but i honestly had a brainfart and spelled it wrong. A players name is one thing but misspelling the damn team name is inexcusable. Yes he was. Samson will be just fine........in Rochester. No - i am kidding. He looks much better than last year and they need to find room for him. I just don't know at whos expense.
  8. First - i don't want to give up those guys. Second - i sure as hell don't want to do it for that jerkoff. As I was told earlier today it is the son of Lars. Larsson. Not Larson or Larrson. It's Larsson. I can sleep well tonight now.
  9. Spelling nottttttted...lol. Some of these names give me fits and his is one of them.
  10. Who does he replace? The only two options that i can see coming out of the lineup are Larrson and Legwand. Legwand is your 4c and will kill penalties. We don't want Reinhart as the 4c. So that leaves Larrson. DB has been pretty outspoken about how he feels about Larrson. So does Reinhart go to Rochester or to the press box until someone gets hurt? Reinhart in the starting lineup is not as much a slam dunk as some think.
  11. I am not basing my opinion on a couple preseason games. I am simply saying i think it has been the plan all summer to start him in Rochester. I may be totally wrong but with the current roster and a few of the moves Murray has made it wouldn't surprise me. I think Reinhart is going to be great. That isn't my concern.
  12. He was playing against pretty much an AHL team. Guhle had points also. Is he ready? Larrson isn't going anywhere. You think he gets rid of Larrson and keeps Legwand? He has traded enough of our prospects. Not that Larrson is a prospect still but I think it would be crazy to trade him. When our roster really matters Larrson will be an important part of it. Legwand and Gionta won't be. In other words - next year.
  13. Knowing the game and playing the game are not the same thing. Mentally yes he is ready. Physically I don't know. If Murray feels he isn't then playing in Rochester against guys much faster than juniors, hitting the weights, and getting his physical game up to speed might not be all that bad. Believe me I don't want to see one of our tank rewards in the AHL but if that's the best for him then I guess it is what it is.
  14. I said last week it just feels like the plan is for Reinhart to start in Rochester. With the players we have and have acquired it just appears that GMTM's plan all along is to get Reinhart top line and PP time in Rochester. Might be 20 games, 40 games, or all year. I just don't think he is in our opening lineup. GMTM has to ignore where he was selected and do what is best for his development. I don't think at this moment limited minutes in Buffalo is what Murray will decide is best.
  15. My gut says Reinhart was destined for Rochester before camp even started. GMTM doesn't need training camp to see if he is ready or not. They know what the kid needs and most likely certain roster moves were made with that in mind.
  16. If this plays out the way it appears it is going to I think Kane has a stronger civil suit than the accuser.
  17. Yes, sorry I live in Tampa. Just the other day they were talking about trying to get a Toews/Kane style deal done. I think they will have to pay more than those deals because I am not sure how badly he wants to be here.
  18. If I was as big of Lightning fan as I am the Sabres I would not want them trading for Eichel. That is not a knock on Eichel I just watch a lot of Lightning games and trading such a proven commodity (team captain with playoff experience ) for a kid who has never played in the league would be a pretty ballsy move.
  19. All good points. As much as I like Stamkos I am glad it worked out the way it did.
  20. Correct. And Tampa isn't going to gut a Stanley Cup finalist for a draft pick. No matter how good people project Eichel to be.
  21. Tampa was not trading one of the best (if not the best) player in the league a few weeks removed from the Cup finals. They definitely were not adding pieces such as Hedman, Bishop, Johnson, etc. The owner here has made it well known he wants him signed at whatever cost. Eichel is going to be great but i think putting him in a category that would require Stamkos + might be setting the bar a little high.
  22. I was agreeing with you that you have seen him enough to have a good idea about his character. Not sure how you took my post but I wasn't being sarcastic or anything.
  23. Depends. If he cupped his glove we might have an issue. A swat shouldn't cause any problems.
  24. You have first hand experience and know him better than any of us. Hopefully he has grown up. Time will tell.
  25. He scores 30-40 he can tap the top of as many heads as he wants. I highly doubt the guy scores a goal and then thinks about how he is going to greet his teammates. Probably just a habit that has absolutely no meaning behind it. Can we give the guy at least until mid-October before we figure out ways to hammer the guy. As for Reinhart - is Justin Bailey more NHL ready than Reinhart? Reinhart will be fine - just depends what "fine" is. Hopefully the "fine" will be the best forward in his draft. That is what he was picked to be. Not sure if that is going to be the case.
