A lot of you act as if we are the only team in the league. Odds are Colorado reached out to Roy well before the last few days. Even if DR wanted Roy who says he wanted us? Never mind the fact that If his name wasn't Patrick Roy none of us would be happy if our next coach was the HC of a jr team with no professional coaching experience. A great goalie does not mean great coach. Same with FA's , trades, etc. So much more goes behind the scenes that we don't know about. Don't always blame the GM because he didn't get every player or coach that you wish was here.

I totally agree with the theory of something being on the table. I would love to know what all was in play Wednesday. There was some truth to all that Washington drama IMO. As for your wanting to resign him. No thanks. His time has come. I think he needs/wants a change of scenery more than we think. I think he is just reinforcing to management that he will do his final 10 games and then c ya.

Give me 20 hard working guys that show up every night and I will take whatever the result is. If this group sets the tone that they are going to bust their butt everynight when we do sprinkle in some top draft picks or a "top 6" player or 2 then it is up to them to follow suit. Too often in the past our "stars" were our example and it wasn't a very good one. I don't care how good you are. If you are a "star" for 2 games then take 2 games off you are useless.

I have not listened to Millers interview yet. I don't need to. The guy is a pompous punk who thinks he is bigger than the team. I can't believe we still support a guy who calls out teammates, questions his GM (right or wrong you have a code of conduct to follow as a professional), and, I believe, is a locker room cancer. I am so sick of hearing "deserve to play for a cup". Screw that. They have been paid very well the past 5-7 years to have a chance to play for the cup. They were paid as center pieces of the team. As far as I am concerned they failed. To wish them well somewhere else - no thanks!! I am tired of players leaving buffalo only to play for a championship somewhere else. I hope wherever they go they enjoy the same success they had here. I hope Vanek has his normal injuries and end of season slump. I hope Miller is calling our his teammates. As far as I am concerned don't let the door hit you in the ass.

We have been a bubble team or worse for the past how many years with Vanek, Miller, and pominville?? What is your plan? Trade our 3rd and 4th liners for top 6 players? What you have on paper does not mean a thing. How many teams have you seen that are loaded with "name" players that don't do squat. Just look at the standings this year. How many Columbus fans thought they would be where they are at the day Nash was traded? We have a group here that have had their run. It's over. Time to move on. Would you honestly feel comfortable if the plan was to extend the big 3 for another 3-5 years at 30-40% of your cap amount? Is that what you want?

I know I am in the minority (or maybe all by myself) but I actually want him to stay. The time to fire him was when they let Ruff go. Now that he has started this rebuild/reload they almost have to let him finish the plan. Obviously, they have all gone over the long term plan here. They are going to trust him to execute it. Again, agree he needed to be fired. However, now would be the wrong time. Just please get me a coach that gets us excited. New core, new coach - I can live with that - for now!!

I would think from past experience you would of heard rumblings of offering extensions by now. Not one time have you heard anyone in upper management say a word. If Vanek or Miller were in the plan you would think that now would be the time for the ole "getting Thomas or Ryan locked down is a priority this summer". No way In hell they start next season on this team with 1 year left. I think we learned that lesson already. Their max value is this summer - not next deadline as a rental.

First off this is not a 3-5 year rebuild. If done correctly we can easily compete for a 5-8 berth next year. DR has done the draft picks part. He has added a few prospects. Now we convert Miller and Vanek into the new core. Those 2 will easily get us 2-3 top 6 players. Adding Hackett yesterday is all we need to know that Miller is gone. I also think that our starting goalie is not in this current group. I think Bernier ends up here. Would the kings do Minny's #1, one of our backup goalies, and Stafford for Bernier? Then we flip Miller for a top 6 player, picks/prospects. Vanek brings you at least another top 6 forward and a top 6 dman. Plus picks/prospects. With our surplus of cap money we add a FA or two and another teams buyout and you have completely changed your team. Cannot see how we cannot come out of this and not be competitive.I

If it's Stafford I don't care if they offer us a #1 in 2025. TAKE IT!!

Not every fan visits this site. There are 18k fans in that arena every night that have to watch this crap. I am not saying I agree with all his ways he goes about things. I do say we need a local reporter who will put it out there. Now mind you, I live in Florida so I do not see all his articles or post game questions. Maybe my opinion would be different if I was up there.

Not sure how anyone could have a problem with Bucky. For the most part he speaks for the fans. The ones who are not sipping the same Kool- aid as upper management.

Totally agree. I think of the two Poms is more of the team player. I truly think he would be disappointed to leave. Something about Vanek just tells me he could care less.

We are taking for granted that we want to resign him. Is he worth another big contract? Is he worth the current contract? Is he the player we want to be one of our cornerstones for say the next 5 years. My answer is no to all of them. Reason simply being that when you have the results we have for the first 6 years of his deal it is time for change. Most likely, he will feel the same way.

Apologize if it was a joke. Why remove the original post? I would be all for a trade involving Vanek. He will bring us the biggest return by far and I also feel he will not resign here. I also agree with an earlier post that stated he always fades as the season goes on.

You think? Maybe he meant we were trading Stafford and Pominville for Torres. I highly doubt that with it being the trade deadline and everything that he could have possibly meant they were all in play for being moved.

I would like to see Poms and Regehr moved to LA at the deadline for Bernier, top prospect, and a number 1. The 1 will obviously be a late round pick so we could either use it as a way to move up in draft if we end up picking 8-14 or we could use it in package deal with Miller at draft time. Again, this is what I would like to see but highly doubt it.

Maybe if you are Regehr you ask to be traded. Why would you want to end your career with a rebuild project? After 2 -3 more years in the league he can take his family and live wherever he wants. Most likely never work another day in his life he so choosed. I think my family could live with that.

I expect 1 or 2 more deals. Regehr and possibly Stafford with a Gerbe type added to the deal. Most likely for draft picks or non rostered prospect. I expect Miller and Poms this summer.

There is no way he is done dealing. I also think he is given one more year to revamp this team. Whatever players he is trying to move now ( Poms, Miller, Stafford, etc) that he does not get out of here by Wednesday will be moved this summer. Whether it be DR or a new GM I think his comments tell us the TP has told him it is time to blow this thing up.
