In 10 games Fransen will have as much love as the Mez. There is a reason he didn't sign with anyone until almost camp. Guys I honestly don't want to be Debbie Downer but Murray has got to be able to have more to show on his defense than this after all the tools that were in his shed when he took over.

The pipeline I was talking about was defense and goaltending. Sure we have forward prospects but Murray has grossly neglected the defense. I deleted the post after I wrote it because i knew the response I would get. Sorry guys but if you all want to sit here and plan your Cup party because Jack Eichel is know a Sabre then you might be waiting a LONG time. I feel this rebuild was grossly handled. Going back to when management decided to blow this thing up to today I don't think we remotely maximized what our return could have been. Too be this far into the process and have this as your defense and goaltending should scare the hell out of you. Many of you still all have the Eichel giggles. This team has gapping holes. Holes that i am not sure how Murray plans to fill them. We have bashed Edmonton for years how they had all the forwards in the world but no defense and GT'ing. You think help is coming from that never ending list of prospects that we seem to constantly be waiting on? Our "rebuild plan" is much more similar to Edmonton's than it is Pitt or Chicago. Hope in another couple years many of you prove me wrong. Most likely you will be giving me another prospect list.

This year is no different than the pre-tank years. There is no need to hope for a 7/8 seed playoff spot. This team is not going anywhere this year. I don't think the plan expects it to. So as much as I hate to say it - we will be talking draft picks a lot sooner than later. We are in year 3 of a 5 year rebuild.

Ristos development had been stunted by the hockey teams he has been a part of since joining the league. You wonder if he had lost some work ethic and zest forv the game.

I know it seems overreactive but i am serious. I think the last few years has taken away some of the emotion. Hoping to get it back but just not feeling it.

It is only 2 games and, your right, we can't overreact. Just kind of expected a little more offense than we have seen.

Our forwards are the veggies - our D and goaltending is rancid meat.

2 games in and have already lost interest. Am i the only one who is trying real hard to get the passion back but something is missing?

He looked lost most of last year also. IMO, he is the leading candidate to take the thrown that Stafford left behind.

I know your joking, but being realistic I would like to see us get 8-10pts in the first 10 games. I don't think any of those come today. Tampa might make this D look really bad - because it is.

Curious to know what Reinhart was doing wrong that warranted getting glued to the bench and no PP time. I know if Gionta played he never sees the second line but he wasn't paying bad. Hell, if your going to start stapling guys to the bench start with Moulson. With this D and goaltending we are not going to the playoffs. So as time goes by and that becomes a little more clear I hope they let Reinhart develop here. Not sure Rochester is the answer.

As much as I want to sit and enjoy the game I am already bored. I know it will get better but 2-0 or not this is hard to watch.

How in the world did you remember a 10 year old discussion? Looking at tonight's lines it gave me goosebumps when I saw Kane/Eichel /Reinhart. Felt like today would never come. This season will have its bumps in the road but for once we have a team to get behind. A few years back I joined this board as a place to vent my disgust. Hence the username sicknfla. Today I put that name to rest. I am now curednfla.

When healthy the D is comparable. They are both subpar NHL defenses. Depth wise i think we had more last year - and that wasn't much.

If we get comparable or better GT'ing than last year I will be very happy and surprised.

The one thing we had last year was great goaltending for what we had to work with. I don't think expecting that from Johnson/Lehner is realistic. No way our goaltending is better than last year. Both our goals for and goals against will be higher this year. How that translates standings wise we will see.
