Must be nice to be a Kings fan. Not knowing who McDavid is a perfect example of why some teams don't worry about the top of the draft. Who they pick next June is the last thing any of them are thinking about.

That is great. I think when they get back every fan should yell SHOOT as soon as the point man touches the puck on the PP. 18K screaming shoot might actually get the point man to flinch enough that the puck finds the net and distract the goalie enough that it actually goes in.

The "new Myers" obviously can read and has ears. He knows he is involved in trade talks. He also knows that if he busts his ass he could very well end up in Detroit or Anaheim. If that isn't motivation nothing is. We would be fools to think otherwise.

I think the answer to this debate is we have no shooters or playmakers. Hence 8 goals in 6 games.

Two things I take from that article. The first is how refreshing it was to hear a coach actually talk hockey. Something other than "lack of effort and we will find out who wants to play". The second was I think we let a pretty good kid go.

When will some of you realize Myers is not going to get "nasty". Skating, strength, his shot - those he can practice and get better at. NASTY is a different story. You either have it or you don't. Something that your born with. The guy is in his 6th year. It's not happening. He may show you a glimpse once in a blue moon but usually it will take a stick to the balls to get it out of him.

I am trying to stay positive with this kid but I just don't see it. Nothing about his play so far has any resemblance of a skilled playmaker. I dont care how smart he is. Right now I would take a player with a third grade mentality if he knew how to score.

This is by no means an excuse for Zadarov but I imagine at some point before the summer he was probably told he was looking at one more year in junior. If he wasn't told he probably could figure it out when we made our FA moves. Wonder if he lost motivation. Again, no excuse because this makes me more concerned than anything we saw from Grigs.

Ok for no other reason than conversation IF we have the 2nd pick is the difference between Eichle and Hannifan too big that if the team with the 3rd pick offered us a great package that included the 3rd pick do you consider it? Now before you butcher me just consider all the variables. One he is in college and may have no desire to leave until we are relevant. Two by having Hannifan you more than adequately replace Myers who you move for NHL ready players. Three by trading the 2nd pick you pick up more NHL ready players. Four we already have Grigo, Girgs, and Samson in the center pipeline. I know it sounds crazy but I do not feel Eichle is McDavid. McDavid I do not even contemplate moving. Just food for thought. I will add another twist. If you pick Eichle do you move one of the other guys?

If that is the case - and i tend to agree his fat ass must have been really out of shape. Been at least 6-7 weeks since Traverse City. Training camp and now practicing with the team is a slightly different diet than we all go on. You would think he would have his conditioning in order by now.

Myers winning the Calder is a mute point in this. That is old news by now. His also being a freak of nature isn't that big of deal because even though he is big he doesn't play big. We will get a decent return for him but nothing like some of you expect.
