  1. Yeah with a lineup littered with high draft picks including a #1 overall. Comforting.
  2. You and Tank may very well end up being the last men standing amongst the pro tankers. The reality of the matter is one team out of 30 can win the Cup every year. 29 other teams are doing all they can to win it as well. Give me a team with a chance. That is all I ask. If you have a chance crazy things can happen. Having no chance sucks. And please spare me with the last 40 year crap. This is not the way you try to build a team. Sorry. It is not fair to anyone involved - players, coaches, fans, and the league. It is the ###### way out.
  3. DR sells Pegula on a plan. Pegula then fires DR because the fans are outraged with the on ice product. He then tells a competitive and proud PLF on a yacht that he wants to win. PLF comes in with a plan far different than the guy that just got fired. Pegula says "wait I still like the plan of the guy I fired". PLF says f u. TN says I should follow my heart and walk away from this debacle. Then he realizes he hasn't had a real job in decades and could use the money. So he begrudgingly stays. New GMTM has his first gig. He is happy. Pegula tells him the plan and here we are. This shitshow is not that difficult to figure out. Our owner is a complete moron.
  4. If one gets hot and the right offer is there send him packing. Otherwise deadline for Stewart/Stafford and if you move Myers at all you may get more in a big draft day deal.
  5. The goaltending will most likely get burned out and allow more goals. I think at best it evens out but i doubt our goal output ever reaches 1.75 a game this year.
  6. Because everything depends on the tank. I think I am ok with the tank 21 hours a day. The 3 hours that I have to watch what a tank product looks like is when I hate the tank. I will continue to root for losses this year but then they need a new sales pitch. 2+ years of on purpose sucking is enough.
  7. I don't care what the reasoning but can anyone really be happy with this? Sorry to some of you pro-tankers but I am not buying the "generational talent", "we have been mediocre for ever", "we will be a Cup contender in a few years" crap anymore. I am sick of falling into this feeling of wanting to loose. Last night i was at my kids baseball game and i was checking my phone for the score. After we fell behind I was glad. At that point I thought why am I even wasting my time checking? Let's spend the season trying to suck and then lets hope the lottery is nice to us. If anyone can convince me that is a good business plan go for it because this is crazy.
  8. Dead. Scratch him. I think Sue Ellen is still available.
  9. Games like this really exemplifies how crazy this entire tank situation is. Today in the morning skate Nolan is getting the guys fired up and ready to win a hockey game. Meanwhile, everyone else in the organization from GMTM to TP is hoping for a loss. Seriously how could any player want to be a part of this organization? For that matter how could any coach with pride want to coach in this organization?
  10. Exactly. Also keep in mind any void you leave in Rochester can be filled wity the guys in juniors- like Bailey, Reinhart, and Baptiste once their season is over.
  11. No that would send the wrong message to the rest of the guys.
  12. Have to admit when the Sabres are not in the mix the Canadians are who I root for. Love the city, tradition, uniforms, etc.
  13. Or his agent reminded him it was a contract year.
  14. Great post. This has been my concern all along. You have a rookie GM whose first venture on his own is probably one if the biggest complete rebuilds the league has seen. Yet, some are confident he has the tools and knowledge to do this. Now if I am a billionaire owner who wants to byild a Cup winner do I pick a rookie GM to do this?? No, I go out and buy the best PROVEN GM that money can buy me. Yes he has made billions and is a great businessman. I just highly doubt he got that way by putting rookie, unproven men in positions that would dictate his business for years to come. THIS is why I think he is in over his head.
  15. What has he done to earn the label of "great GM"? As for Pegula he has done nothing right. Starting with not cleaning house immediately. TP would be the first person to tell you he has made mistakes. For people to say he has done everything right is absurd.
  16. I could care less how he talks in public. That has absolutely zero to do with my opinion of him. My opinion is based solely on how he has run his organization since the day he has bought it. And that is like dog ######. He is out of his league as a professional sports owner. He will learn from his mistakes -I hope - but for anyone to be proud or accept the condition of this franchise is nuts. This team did not need to be torn down to this level.
  17. If he is incredibly shy and humble are those great assets for an owner of a professional sports franchise. Yes, he has made billions and is an incredible business man. But does that make him a good owner? I want my owner to have a set of balls and take every loss personally. I want him to feel the other billionaire owners are his competition- just like other people in the fracking business. I DON'T want my owner to be ok with most likely being the owner of the team with the worst 2 year run in NHL history. His people he hired will be the first to accept accolades when/if this thing turns around. Well they also should accept blame. Time for some freaking heads to roll. Show us a pair Pegula and shitcan some of your cronies. Nobody in this mess deserves the paycheck you are giving them.
  18. And nobody will. Again, his hire and then resignation is a better indication of what is going on than the games itself. It is being run by a bunch of morons. And it starts with Pegula.
  19. No, I just think he had no idea how determined upper management was to go all in TANK. I didn't like the PLF or TN hire when it happened. It was a publicity hire only. My point was more that when he resigned it was all we need to know about this organization. It is a much bigger mess than just what we see on the ice. For those that think he was fired it really doesn't matter either way. The differences came from the direction of the team. I just cannot fathom how ownership wants to be this bad? How is that any way to run a business. Throw away seasons for a couple picks? Idiots
  20. PLF walking away fron this is really all we need to know.
  21. Some great football and horse racing on tonight.
  22. Other than being the #2 pick he didn't do anything remotely close to warrant keeping him here. I hate to be overly critical but he hasn't done squat since being drafted. Development camp, Traverse City, and now 9 games. I guarantee you that at least half their picks in 2014 would have shown just as much or more if given the same opportunity his draft position alloted him. You all can blame his linemates, tell me how smart he is, etc. That is fine. He may turn out to be a good player but right now he is nowhere near NHL caliber.
  23. Unless it is a #1 pick or top prospect he is the only guy on the team that has a chance to get us any sort of offensive player. Since we need that desperately I think we have the d in the pipeline that gives TM the option to do this......for the right price.
  24. Don't see him getting moved until after the season. He is not part of the future but he is helping to navigate the tank. Once the tank is parked Cody will be involved in a deal most likely with Myers and at least one of our picks/prospects that will be the beginning of the post tank era. Hey, it doesn't hurt to wishful think once in awhile!
  25. Don't fall in love with any of these prospects. Yes, they are the key to this rebuild but many will be used to get the players needed to be competitive again. Think Pominville trade just reversed.
