This team has come to far to unload a combination of 5 players/picks for one guy. This isn't the time for this kind if deal. Let the season play out as planned. Unload the UFA's and go into the draft with all options on the table.

Year 1 was when they fiddle farted around during the lockout season.

Still to much. Can't unload a center in this deal.

Sabres are ruining Murray's plan---what does he do??
sicknfla replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
Exactly. So if they finish a few games below .500 they are 75. A couple over and they are 82. My OPINION is they will not be above .500 but stranger things have happened. One thing for sure is they will not be as good as they have been the last 15 or as bad as the first 15. -
If you trade Grigs and loose out on McEichle suddenly we are back to square one with no center depth - regardlesd who they draft. Reinhart and draft pick anyone not named McEichle will probably be a few years before they are serviceable. No way in hell! For reasons stated above.

They can't sustain this level. They just don't have the talent. Again 19 home games to 12 road games so far. They will not go back to the depths of early season but they will not finish the last 51 games .500. 75-82 pts is where I see them. Edmonton appears to be a lock for last, and honestly, do we really want to be worse than them?? -
I am with Liger. You guys are reading too much into it. Nobody is tearing it up in Rochester. Give the kid a few games if Mitchell is hurt and see how his game has progressed. Mitchell gets healthy you send him back and all is status quo. Oh yeah.....Liger has Tanks undies all up in a bunch. With Myers, Neuvirth, and St. Louis 1st for ?????. I don't care who the return was I think if Murray did this kind of trade right now the fanbase would want to run him out of town.

Here we go - get ready to slay me. Everyone we are raving about is the result of one man. Darcy Regier. His picks are proving themselves. Hopefully Murray has the same success with the riches he walked into. -

Add Ottawa to the list of teams that draft before us. God they suck. Murray help build this mess?? -
Landing McEichle would be huge but I have reached the point that whatever happens happens. Top picks are great and teams like Pitt and Chicago are great examples of the importance. There are also just as many, actually many more, examples of teams that had top picks and didn't win crap. Just look at Colorado this year. A #1 and a #2 has them competing in the CHL.

I may have taken it the wrong way. Wouldn't be the first time. All good.

Why does every post have to be met with a dick comment? I don't follow junior hockey like some others do. I was simply asking for some of their more qualified imput. I know he is one of our better prospects and many expect him to be a part of our future. Do I have to sit and watch YouTube videos in order to ask a simple question??

What is missing from his game that he can't make these teams? I honestly don't know enough about him but it is concerning - especially with the way some hype him up around here.

Sabres are ruining Murray's plan---what does he do??
sicknfla replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
Sabres have played 30 games. 18 home and 12 away. For the most part they have been pretty injury free. I can't see them maintaining this pace. Road losses will mount and by March 1 we will be right in the thick of it. Edmonton, Carolina, and Arizona will still be there. The others will pull away. The WORST we pick is 4. -

Good article the other day by ESPN about the Lakers tanking. I can't seem to get it to link up but I an sure someone can help me out. As for Murray I think he lets it go to the halfway point. If we are still playing this way after 10 more games then he has no choice but to continue to do what he can to win NOW. If we crash back to earth then it might be full tank ahead. -
That is fine. I just didn't see it when he was here. He had a chance with 3 coaches and couldn't manage to be a regular.
-
I should have added that to my post. At the time of the trade McNabb was expendable. I think management expected more out of Pysyk and McCabe this year. Both of those guys wete destined for Rochester this year. McNabb if he didn't make the team had to clear waivers. There are a lot of variables that come into play when these moves are made. More often than not they are made for tomorrow not today.
-
McCabe and Pysyk made McNabb expendable. Players like McNabb are a dime a dozen so even if Fasching doesn't pan out it was worth the risk. Deslausiers is basically McNabb right now- just at forward.

If you don't think things like this happen in professional sports you are naive. I can tell you with first hand experience it happens every day.
-
15% is probably more like it.
-
And to add to your point if Murray ends up keeping all 3 firsts (or possibly adding another) he will use one on a dman regardless if Myers is here or not.
-
Why is that ludicrous? The guy can read. He knows he is on the market. How do we not know that in his mind he would love to be a Red Wing? The point you are missing is WE DON'T KNOW. Am I saying it as fact - no. Am I saying its possible- yes. It is common knowledge that a player tends to perform better in a contract year. The same could be said for a player who is looking to be traded and get a fresh start. IF Myers is expecting to be moved and IF this is what he is hoping for then it would be ludicrous to not think that it is possible he has raised his game with that goal in mind.
-
I will go back to what I posted awhile ago. I think with Myers there is a lot more behind the scenes that we don't see. He has always been inconsistent. He has games where he is the best player on the ice. Then he has games where he is completely lost. Makes you think he has some issues between the ears. This guy wasn't seeing a psychologist for no reason. And most likely seeing that psychologist was at the urging of the organization. For all we know the guy could be pn meds. Bottom line we just don't know. I don't believe Murray wants to hitch his wagon and millions of dollars to him. Since the day he was hired Myers has pretty much been on the block. Yes the asking price is high. Yes most players are tradeable for the right price. If Myers was in the Sabres long term plans Murray wouldn't be letting these persistent rumors float around. Especially with a frail ego that Myers appears to have. Again, for all we know Myers better play of late could be inspired because he wants out. Maybe his agent went to Murray and told him so. Murray says play at the highest level you can and I will maximize what I can get for you. As a fan we are lucky to know 60% of what goes on in the locker room and in Murray's office. The other 40% is why Murray is a GM and we are posting on a forum.
-
Trade Enroth and resign him in the summer if you want him that bad. Trade Myers now. Bottom line is you would trade them both for McEichle in a heartbeat so stop playing around. I am not even sure i would trade Myers but if Murray is intent on doing so then get it done.
