Totally agree a draft day tpye deal. I don't agree about Grigo. He has shown me nothing to think he will be a quality top 6 forward. Yes he is only 20 but I just don't see it. Like someone mentioned last night - he never has the puck. Kind of just skates around in la la land.

As much as we would like to have McEichle I can't imagine being worse than Edmonton right now. Regardless of the prize i just can't see how being that bad would be good for this organization. If we were leading the CHL right now we would be in serious trouble. McEichle or no McEichle.

They had no choice but to trade Miller, Ott, and Moulson. That was going to happen tank or no tank. My point is more that DR is 100% in on the tank. When he was fired and new blood was brought in trying to sell Murray and Nolan on the idea wasn't so easy. Murray toes the company line and tries to say the right things but these guys have pride and a competitive nature. Loosing on purpose is easier said than done. Murray told us this past summer that the tank was over. Personally i am fine with it but we have a LONG ways to go before Murray can hang his hat on anything.

Although Pegula didn't realize it at the time the tank ended when he fired DR and hired PLF.

If this team can learn to win when they clearly are not the better team then that is only a positive for the future. These young kids that are a big reason these games are being won will only take the new players that eventually make us a more talented team and teach them how to win. How could anyone find a negative in this? They have proved it enough this year. It is not a fluke. They are winning games because of heart and effort. We can't bitch about that.

One thing with watching this tournament so far is you realize just how many great players are out there. Honestly, it has kind of relaxed me a little bit in this entire McEichle deal.

Nice win but for everything Girgs is I am afraid Grigo isn't. Not impressed with his play whatsoever.

Agree 100%. Half the time in the offensive zone he isn't on my TV screen.

Myers, Pysyk, Enroth, Grigo, and a #1 might get it done. They add Nurse to the equation and suddenly their D isn't so bad. Now the question is do we do that deal? I say yes.

Post more often. We need more posters. And don't worry we are all Captain Obvious at times. If I had a dollar for everytime I have posted or read that we need McEichle my kids would have had their best xmas ever.

Not as many Garth jokes lately. Seems he has done a decent job of doing what we are trying to do. Added some good veterans to go with some players that they have developed. He may still find a way to screw it up but have to give credit where credit is due.

Whoever is sitting at 3 will have numerous offers. All one needs to do is look at Eckblad in Florida. And Hannifan is supposedly better than him.

Well if Edmonton goes 21-21-5 that would be 68 pts. I don't see them doing that. Realistically 58-62 might be the number we need. So your talking 13-24-5 on our end to finish with 60. Not totally unreasonable but I think we are better than that.

Just noticed Risto letting the rest of the team leave the ice before him. Not sure if he was watching the replay or if he is taking a leadership role already.

13 players in tonights lineup were not on the team this time last year. Injuries or not that ia a lot of turnover.

Agree with all this. Plus Murray is going to be using a lot of these prospects as trade material over the next year or two. As we all know there is no way we can keep all these guys. Especially if we add the 5 first and seconds this summer.

Yeah this is not a playoff team. Period. Never has been but some people got a little over zealous. I am all for the kids showing improvements and giving us glimpses of the future but we need to keep it realistic.

We are basically watching a movie that we already know the ending. Edmonton 66pts, Arizona 69, Carolina 70, Buffalo 71. We pick 4th thanks to our 11 game "playoff push" in November/December. Do we expect anything different?

I don't think that is the thinking around here. Its more if we get McEichle we have a CHANCE at a Cup(s) and if we don't get McEichle we are destined for countless more years if mediocrity. As much as I want McEichle I still have confidence in who we have already drafted and who will draft this June. I think we all can agree that either way doesn't guarantee crap.
