With the odds saying it will be Eichel if we finish last then I sure hope it was worth tanking two years for him. Because if Eichel isn't good enough adding Hall and Eberle into the equation then tanking was dumber than I aleady thought. You don't tank for a slight chance of getting one "generational player". Going to be a lot of broken hearts, including Murrays, if this plays out the way it most likely will.

Considering we have a 80% (or higher) chance of not picking #1 overall anyhow I think your right regardless.

If you were to swap #1 for #3 you could add Hannifan to the mix. Trade the #3 for #8(just a random #) and you can add the players the #3 got you plus a Crouse/Barzal at 8. That is A LOT of return for McDavid. To say no to that you better get 15 years of 80-100 pts out of McDavid.

What I am saying is because all 3 will need to clear waivers to go to the AHL they will all make the team. Why waive Larsson when you have plenty of other stiffs to waive instead. Of course they may get traded but it would be part of a bigger deal. Having to clear waivers or not will not factor into any decision Murray makes.

I think all 3 are in next years starting lineup. We have plenty of other guys we can get rid of if we are worried about waivers. Pysyk > Benoit/Weber/Mez etc.,etc. Grigs/Larsson > Ellis/Mitchell/McCormick/Flynn, etc. etc.,

What exactly do we have in place? I don't mean that to be an ass it's a legit question. Other than Girgs, Risto, Zadarov, and Reinhart everyone else is a major question mark.

If Buffalo is holding the #1 pick they are taking McDavid. However, I would love to be in a position to listen to the offers. They could realistically rebuild the team in one day. Just think of what the haul would be if you took what Edmonton gave you for #1 and then traded the Edmonton pick to whoever in the top 10 wanted it most. You still have 3 firsts and god knows what you obtained in the two trades. There is more than one way to rebuild.

Carrier, Fasching, and the '14 draft are all his. They are safe for awhile. DR picks are the ones he is scrutinizing. I also think his comments were directed more towards guys who have been in the system for awile - like Armia, Grigs, Pysyk, McCabe, Larsson, etc. Not guys who are still in juniors as much.

Murray mentioned earlier today that they feel they have determined which prospects have NHL futures and which ones don't. I would love to see that list. My guess is we would be very surprised with some of the players that they feel don't.

I think we can talk about whatever we want on this thread as long as it is not openly rooting for a loss. Pointing out the numerous flaws on this team and discussing the garbage product we are asked to watch game in game out is not off limits.

I think Murray is going to make some kind of deal (probably at the draft) that will do two things. 1. Put his stamp on the fact that this is going to be HIS team. 2. Let the league (and fans) know the Sabres are back in business. It will be a big, bold move that may leave us shaking our heads but for some reason I see it coming. Not just Myers. Bigger than that.

It could go on for awhile. It appears with the exception of a half dozen these guys have already packed it in.
