Exactly what I just said upthread that you called hyperbole. We do not have a player on our roster, in the minors, or in juniors that can bring to us NEXT YEAR what Stewart has brought this year. So you either need to get a proven player to replace him or re-sign him. Hoping that Armia is his replacement is not the answer. You need players of Stewarts ability and then add the Armia's around him. Last year for Miller/Ott we got Stewart/Carrier/picks. If Stewart is traded for more picks/prospects you just continue to wade in the pool of picks/prospects. We need to re-sign Stewart, add Kane, add McEichel, hope Reinhart, Grigo, Armia, Pysyk, and McCabe are ready (if they are not included in trades), and add a few UFA's. That would be a minimum of 9 new players next year. Then we have a roster makeover that has a chance to win.

Armia will not have more impact next year than Stewart. My post stated next year. I think we have prospects who will end up better than Stewart but not anytime soon. If we are going to improve next year we can't replace a Stewart with a Armia.

I hope so but I think we can count on him in '16-'17.

If they want a current rostered player it will not be Mitchell, Ellis, Benoit, etc. That is why I give them my offer. If that is too much Murray could always ask for a 2nd as well. I just don't want to give up one of our few decent rostered players.

Stewart is UFA, Pysyk is in AHL, and the first would be late round. I don't think they, or anybody, is going to get him for nothing.

When was the last time a team did it two years in a row? I have said it a thousand times before but it is the way out. I wish my job allowed me to be a complete f up for two years with no accountability other than to step up to a podium and announce a players name that any dipshit could do. I don't agree. We can't continue to unload every UFA we have and replace them with picks. There is not a prospect in our system that can join our team next year that will be a better player than Stewart.You can almost say the same thing for Stafford. There is no goalie in our system that will do a better job than Enroth. At some point Murray has to acquire players that are proven. IF I can get Kane for something similar to Stewart/Pysyk/a 1st I do it all day long. Then I bring Stewart back in the summer. Stewart would also be good in mentoring Kane IMO.

It is time this organization makes some bold moves. Some will work some won't. This is the kind of deal you make. Murray is going to have to roll the dice a few times. Go get him.

This is why Myers gets moved. We have minimal natural goal scorers at any level. Replacing Myers will be a lot easier than hoping some of the prospects we have become everyday NHL players - nevermind goal scorers. Myers is one of the last options we have to get offensive talent. You think this team is going to get better trading Chris Stewarts for Ryan Spooners?

Looking around the league is there really any team that is going to make an offer for him? He is not going to start anywhere and if he is brought in to be a backup we maybe get a 4th for him at best. Same goes for Neuvirth. These guys don't offer anything special.

Not sure why but the Nolan comments just seemed like a kick in the balls. As bad as this team is encouraging players to play better for the chance to get out of town just doesn't seem right. This entire situation is just flat out sad.

If I am trading Stafford to Calgary and they offer me a 2nd this year (let's say pick 50) or next years 1st I think the ole devalue logic is out the window. The 50th pick isn't likely to have much of a career. So i will take my chances that the first rounder a year later will be more valuable to my team in 3 years than the 2nd rounder will be. Do you marinate hamburg for a week so you hope it tastes like steak or do you just buy the steak?

No it's not. If that was the logic we would have settled for NYI and St.Louis 2nds last year vs their 1st this year. No way anybody is going to convince me getting the 45th ranked player in'15 is better than the 16th ranked player in '16.
