Neuvirth brings a 4th rounder at best. I am sick of those kind of trades. Just sign him now to a fair deal and it is one thing less to worry about this summer. One quick thing on Fucale and Subban. Most on here say it is not worth a 1st round pick in a goalie. Yet, trading for them has been brought up. Fucale could have been picked by us in the second round. You think we get him for just a 2nd now? Doubt it. Who would be more valuable in our organization now - Fucale or Compher? Big mistake that draft year. We did not need to spend all 3 seconds on forwards. Management knew we were going to have a dumpster fire and we would be acquiring numerous picks. To not draft their goalie of the future right then was another DR f up.

If Myers took that shot off the knee by Weber playing for us he would have been out for 2 weeks. There that makes me feel better.

Murray has to say Lemieux not wanting to sign wasn't a factor. If he does he tells every other pick just threaten not to sign and we will trade you.

Get a 1st for Stewart (i think ultimately they will) and bring him back this summer. Draft McEichel and two more in the first plus two seconds and Lemieux and Armia are long forgotten. Stings a little today but I am on board.

Like most major trades we cannot judge it today. Have to give it two years. That said today it feels like I got punched in the balls.

I think Tank meant if they can't get a high level prospect then the other part of the deal would be mid-level and pick. Both scenarios would include a top established player as the primary return. Oops! I was typing as Tank already responded.

If Zadarov, Risto, Myers, and Gorges are your top 4 your probably one of the worst teams in history.......ummmm. He doesn't belong in any teams top 4 and you know enough but hockey to know that. Man crush or not.

More than anything I am saying I don't have a huge amount of confidence in our current prospect group. I don't see offense- even with Reinhart. Myers is probably our only realistic chance to add offense. Any deal for him better involve a top 6 forward and a very good offensive prospect. Not sure he gets that but I have no interest in a Fowler/Gibson type deal.

I don't consider the 3 on the team prospects anymore. They are now regulars on the worse team in the league. I don't consider Mackinnon, Eckblad, etc prospects either. They have made the jump. What we have behind these 3 is one top prospect and a whole bunch of question marks. Am I the only guy who isn't slightly concerned with this??? Yes, we have McEichel possibly coming. And we have probably 4 more players that we can add to the prospect pool. Call me Debbie Downer but I am not hanging my hat on the two guys in Rochester. They could go either way IMO. As for players in juniors and college. You might get 2-3 guys that can help in 2-4 years. Why do I say all this?? Because Murray is not going to sniff a Cup by sitting on his hands with what he has in his toolbox. He has to take a few risks. Turning Myers into 3-4 players is a risk I can live with. Taking a gamble on Kane is worth it IMO. I will get butchered for this but I can honestly see a team next year without Stafford/Stewart/Mitchell/ and Enroth being worse than this year. He needs to be aggressive!!

Again, what makes that any different than most teams in the league? We are not unique in having a few guys under 21.

We have one high level prospect in the organization. And that of course is Reinhart. The rest of the guys are no different than every other team has. The only thing that seperates us in "top prospects" in the league BS is we have more than every other team. Quantity doesn't always equal quality. What irks me is Anaheim is absolutely stacked with high end prospects. They are also one of the top teams in the league. Maybe I missed it but I don't recall them tanking to get that way.

This is definitely the equivalent to the dog days of summer right now. March 2 can't get here fast enough. I don't think I can handle much more Tyler Myers and Evander Kane mumbo jumbo.

Training camp started approx 5 months ago. Went by pretty quick - albeit pretty uneventful. 5 more months and we will have had a trade deadline, lottery, a draft, and the first week of FA. Going to probably be the biggest 5 months in team history. Let's do this Tim Murray!!!!

The other night I was watching basketball - which I never do. Charles Barkley was talking about JR Smith and his reputation as being bad in the locker room. Said every team in every professional sports has idiots on them. Said some of the best players he played with were fools. Used Rodman as an example. Said in the locker room it is more about how you perform than anything else. Basically said because Rodman averaged 17 boards a night and played his ass off nobody cared. If he wasn't as good of player they would have ran him out of the league. Kane comes here and scores 30+ a year I will personally stack his money on his back if he feels the urge for more pushups.

For the right price he is worth the risk. Murray won't give up the farm for him. He isn't the only jerkoff in professional sports. Back in the day I used to work security (aka bouncer) at Jim Kelly's Network Club. Used to often work his VIP room. Half our early 90's "heroes" were complete aholes when they were in that place - which was very often BTW.
