Where did I ever say they were washed up? I simply stated they are our veterans. I disagree with a veteran needing to be in his 30s. Ennis is not a veteran. He is looked at to lead and lead by example. This is what a veteran does.

This game used be a huge event for the Sick family. Not anymore. I am trying like hell to become a Lightning fan down here but what is in your blood is in your blood.

I think Murray will have an active draft but this team cannot afford any more 3+ for 1 style trades. What scares me with any ROR style deal is it will take a few current players, prospect, and pick to complete. We just don't have the organizational depth. I would have thought after this massive 2+ year selloff we would have more assets but I just don't see it. Ennis, Bogo, Moulson, Kane, and Gorges are now are vets. Foligno, Deslauriers are guys who could be around for awhile but are not difference makers. Then we have: Girgs/Risto - so far the two best players to come out of this rebuild. Both will have long productive careers and be part of the new core. Zadarov - could go either way. Could be top 4 dman for next 10-15 years. Clearly not mature yet. Will Murray ride it out or lose patience and include him in summer deal? THAT IS PRETTY MUCH IT ON THE BIG CLUB!! Reinhart - should have good/above average career. Do not see superstar talent but should be a rock for next 15 years. Grigorenko - huge question mark that will probably be involved in a future trade. Pysyk/ McCabe - our final two defensive prospects that should be with big team next year. Carrier/Fasching/Bailey/Baptiste/Cornel/Compher - maybe two of these guys become everyday NHL players. Goalie - we have some prospects but nothing to count on. 2015 draft - one impact player who is hopefully the superstar that all this tanking has been for. Then a late first and a few seconds to add to our prospect pool that may help a few years down the road. The Islanders having a big year has hurt. So based on that I am not sure how I feel. I know I will feel better this time next year but I am hardly convinced that we have laid down the foundation of a Stanley Cup team.

I think the reality of it is setting in. With or without McEichel we have a long ways to go.

This has sucked. Regardless of where it might end up in a few years we will never get these years back. I have missed good hockey. I have missed getting excited on game day. I have actually started rooting against my favorite team. Is it really worth it. I don't think so.

Murrays body of work for two deadlines is not good. Mitchell and Stewart we part of the Miller/Ott deal. So to now say they were worthless is to say that basically when he acquired them he was acquiring worthless assets. In hindsight he could have flipped Stewart last year when he still had a year left and received more. Didn't Ottawa want him? Good GM'S don't make that mistake.

Feels kind of good thinking this may have been the final sell off in this rebuilding process. Maybe from here forward it is all about making the team better.

I agree with '17. I was responding to being a bubble team in '16. We have one more year of rebuilding/developing and then we should be in good shape.

That isn't happening. This team is a LONG ways from being a bubble playoff team.

Doing interviews during the hours of the trade deadline isn't doing his job IMO. To me that is irksome. The guy is charge of turning around the worse team in hockey. Plenty of time for interviews between 3pm and the draft. I wish I knew how to use kissing lips emoji.

Of all days Murray doesn't need to worry about being a media this is one of them. Do your f'ing job and talk to the media at 3:30. This rubs me the wrong way.

Because if he waited too long and the teams went in a different direction then he may be left without a dance partner. I guess we will know in a little more than 6 hours.

He made a questionable trade for Miller. Another questionable trade for Fasching. The Winnipeg deal I think will work out. My point was - come deadline time GM'S want to get deals done. This year it is apparent they do not want to wait until 2:55. If Murray has been asking for a kings ransom and these guys have simply moved in a different direction then he will learn from it. My opinion - in the moves he has made so far he has overpaid. So now if he has to sell for less you are right- other GM'S are willing to deal with him.

I must be missing something.

What Murray ends up getting for Stewart is going to be a good indicator to us what kind of GM we have. Is he trying to make trades so lopsided that other GM's don't bother with him or is he a shrewd GM that doesn't flinch until he gets what he wants? I have a feeling this deadline might end up being a learning experience for him.

Fucale is ready to move on to bigger and better things. He might not be having a great year but the tools are there. I think it is between his ears right now. Right or wrong I think these guys reach a point where juniors just doesn't motivate them anymore. He didn't start for Canada in the World Juniors because he sucks.

There is a reason every team unloads their UFA'S. In 19 games they are no longer on your team. So how is 19 games with Stewart better than 2 seconds? Isn't two seconds and going after Stewart on July 1 a little better idea??
