I think to a certain extent this is how I feel. Regardless of what some may think - it is not necessary to bring the franchise down to this level to secure some draft picks. Pegula has run this team right into the ground. Now we put our trust into a first time GM and some lottery balls. Freaking joke. Mediocre is a hell of a lot better than this. Mediocre gives you a chance. This league and the playoff system has proven that. Spending 2+ years of being the worse team in hockey - and at least 2 more years from mediocrity - doesn't work for me. The Capitals night be considered mediocre. They could win it all this year. Nashville is one year removed from firing their coach. Did they resort to blowing it up and going full blown tank for one freaking player? No.

I think it is as simple as McEichel. We get one of those two he is trade bait and probably gone. If we don't he probably gets a solid chance to be a contributing player - at least long enough until the center not named McEichel has time to develop.

I knew exactly what the deadline was going to or not going to bring. I think it was more of a matter of being tired of trade deadlines and draft positions being the extent of our excitement. Like all of you I am just ready to get excited about hockey again. I have 18 games left in me. I can make it.

I was being generous with 40-50. That current group doesn't have 20 so far this year. So if the top 2 lines produce 120 which is being VERY generous based on what I am looking at that means that Ligers lineup is good for 140-170 goals next year. That would have us pretty much where we are right now - last place or close to it. This is also why I think we do not pick Hannifan. With what we already have on D, and our lack of organizational scoring threats, he has to flip that pick if we have it. He has no choice. Murray's job is going to get real interesting if we don't bring this McEichel gig to fruition.

You listed 7 players and whatever picks we get this year. You happy with that?? Three years of complete teardown for the players you listed above. I would have expected more than the 7 players you listed. Several of those names should be followed with a ?.

Realistic lineup. Your 3rd and 4th lines would not score a combined 40- 50 goals. Reinhart is still a big question mark to me.

No I am not going to relax. For some reason after the deadline I feel a level of disgust that I don't care. This tank and everything about it is an embarrassment. On top of that the prize - most likely Eichel - to me is just not worth it. To strip an organization down to this disgusting level for one player is crazy. How can anyone think Grigorenko has a future on this team? He can't crack the lineup on what may be the worse team we have ever iced. Our draft fate is in the hands of at least 12 guys who probably will never wear a Saber uniform again after this season. Just the way Murray wanted it I guess.

The arena is great. The do a very good job getting the crowd involved. Sucks for concerts though because the acoustics are horrible. I had the honor of being there when the Lightening won the Cup in game 7. That was a experience I will never forget. Something we as Sabres fans deserve desperately.
