I honestly can say that what this team has done since Pegula has taken over has taken away some of my passion for this team. Not just the record but how they have gone about it. I want my owner and my team to have more pride than accepting to play at the level they have let this team get to. This team has reached such a low that reaching the ultimate high seems light years away. -
I live in Florida. I am on vacation. Maybe I need to change my picture to half Sabres half Lightning. Oh wait I only will do that after I spends days bitching about a trade I didn't like.

If you and JJ enjoy watching a hockey game that we had absolutely no right to win, get outshot 2-1, and has at least half the team not returning next year then I guess you enjoyed yourselves. When both of you are bitching on draft day I will remind you of your great desire of beating a longtime rival. Who gives a f if we beat Boston one game??? They are ten times the organization we are and taking one point from them is a blip on their radar. These two points hurt us. End of story. The thing that kills me is you guys sit here and call people muppets but yet I GUARANTEE you both Murray and Pegula think the same way as those of us that don't want points right now. I highly doubt Murray is sitting at his desk today with a woody because we beat Boston.

Good post. It kills me to find myself rooting against them. It pisses me off to no end. I honestly can say McEichel or no McEichel I am just ready to turn the page. The road is still going to be bumpy either way but at least it should be a new road.

Yes I 100% want them to lose. As does 90% of the people on here. I just get tired of the few that for some reason think because THEY want the team to win no matter what and they could NEVER wish bad upon their team are somehow more true fans. It's like the "tank crowd" is unloyal or something. Yes I sit there right now and openly root against my team. Why?? Because I know that loosing now gives me a better chance for what we all want later. You really think that if/when we end up picking 3rd or 4th on draft day you are truly going to give a ratsass what happened in Boston on March freaking 17th? Come on!!! That Tank is an explanation to my "weird" post as you called it.

I hate the tank. I hate everything about it. I would rather be competing for a playoff spotv and getting knocked out on the first round. But f me if your going to ram this shizit hockey up my ass for two years at least make it worth my while. Mitch Marner is not worth the crap we have had to endure. That is why I am pissed. I didn't want this horseshit in the first place.

If we get McEichel he needs to go out and make one more hockey trade that will bring us a top 6 winger. This may hurt a little in regards to who he might give up. He also needs to go out and sign at least one solid veteran dman. Give me one or two bottom six veteran forwards and Niemi. Now go play hockey and win some games. Have the playoffs be your goal. Draft Strome/Marner and keep it status quo. I hate to say it but we would need another year of bottom feeding hockey to get another top prospect. Let the kids develop another year and add a year to the rebuild. These next 14 games will decide our future. This is why I will be sick to my stomach if we screw this up.

If we come out of these two drafts with Reinhart and Marner/Strome does anyone think we are remotely on our way to be a Cup contender?? Both would be a year or two away. Reinhart - ???. We would need multiple more lottery style drafts. So Murray better pray to God he ends up with McEichel or else he is screwed. I think if we don't get McEichel the rebuild might take a different direction. Just building an average team within 3 years might be considered a huge accomplishment. Nevermind any pipe dream Cup contender crap.

Murray talks to much. I think after the honeymoon phase is over here that act will get old. Right now he is enjoying the attention he is getting. I will start paying more attention to what he has to say when he has done more than sell off some UFA'S and be asked to captain the worse team hockey. Why can't we be next years Calgary or NYI? Why come out and say what he did? I am sick of this loser mentality. If he realistically thinks we are not a playoff team next year THEN DO MORE!! Earn your damn paycheck. Any blind squirrel can sit back and wait for years worth of high draft picks to accumulate. Expect more from yourself, your coaches, your scouts, and your players. This BS of accepting to not compete for a playoff spot is old. Take TP's nipple out of your mouth and start doing your job. This act is old. What exactly is he saying that DR didn't???? Yet we accept it because Murray GZF's. Give me a break. Put a damn hockey team on the ice and shut the hell up.

Reinhart will be here next year but not sure how effective. The 2105 pick could be Marner/Strome who will not be here next year. Girgs is already here. Other than Kane who is this team adding next year that is going to make it so much better than this year? The tank might be over but the suffering isn't.

I think you are missing my point. Right now I am pro-tank because it is what is best RIGHT NOW!! I don't think it is what was best two and a half years ago when they decided to go this route. What was best then was Pegula fired DR the minute DR mentioned tank. Pegula could have said " my team is better than that ". Showed DR the door and went out and hired a qualified GM immediately who had a plan to make this team a contending team every way possible other than doing this crap. So I will keep my fan card for now.

Depends what you consider as good. The good they have been is similar to what everyone around here was tired of.

A lot of teams have top picks and don't do shizit. We tend to just look at Chicago and Pitt. We don't mention the teams that have top picks that have never done anything. NYI, Edmonton, Colorado, and so on and so on have numerous top picks. Hell Winnipeg just traded two to us. Not exactly like they won much lately.

I hate this plan. I have accepted it and realize the importance of seeing it through. However, I will never be convinced this was the best and only way to go. I hope in 3 years I can look back and say I was totally wrong. It is a hell of a gamble. One that most good organizations have never resorted to.
