From day one I have not liked the idea of tanking. Since this is the direction that the team has gone I am not foolish enough to realize that anything short of finishing DFL would be a complete waste. So please don't say I flip flop. I would have much rather gone about it differently. We didn't so let's at least maximize the return on the decision to go for top picks.

I have never been to one of their boards. I live in Tampa but my heart is in Buffalo. Plus you guys give me enough grief. I couldn't take it from two boards. :)

You are right it is apples to oranges and not the best comparison. Kind of a weird day today - you know what is best for the team and yet you still have a sick feeling in your stomach that this is where we are at. On that note go Yotes!!

"Delicious superiority" - funny. Some of you make that easy. :). As for Lightning stubs - yes the Lightning are a nice option to have when I want to watch real hockey games.

I didn't expect you to agree with it and don't honestly care if you do. It is how I feel. It is MY OPINION. Not all of us feel that this is the route we had to go. We have gone over that countless times.

McEichel or no McEichel tonight will mark the low point in team history when an arena full of Sabres will be rooting for the other team to win. We have come this far and, obviously, need to see it through but this entire two years of blatant tanking has been rotten to the core. IMO, the two worse decisions in team history were Pegula listening and accepting DR's "suffering" plan and then the second was hiring Murray and making him continue with the plan. Had Pegula put forth the effort to hire quality coaches, wine and dine free agents, and make a general conscious effort to be a proud franchise like he is with his football team this pathetic game would be a blip on the radar. Instead, we all will be rooting against our team. Sad day to say the least. Glad you are living and learning at the expense of all of us Sabres fans Terry. I pray to God this "plan" works out.

Plus I think it is easy to forget Stafford was gone anyhow. Looks like a lot on paper but time will tell. If Armia, Lemieux, and the first all pan out then he overpaid regardless of what Kane does. Murray played the odds that they won't and I am OK with that. -
The only thing these teams can do to help tank is adjust the roster. Once the puck is dropped these guys are professionals and whoever is in that game is trying to win. After watching both these teams play the last two nights it is obvious. If anything, I think Nolan has his guys believing it is them against the world. I wouldn't be surprised if he went as far as a speech that included something similar to " hey listen this team was put together to lose. Odds are most of you, and me, will not be here in the future. Let's go out there and ram this tank up their ass".

Ennis, Moulson, and Foligno are part of the future. They know what is at stake and what is going on. Comes down to one of them in a shootout. Think they shoot wide or hit the goalie in the chest on purpose? The retreads will try to score. I just wonder what a guy who knows he is locked in for awhile would do.

If any of these games goes to a shootout I think Murray orders Nolan to use starting goalie, backup goalie, and Weber.

One of TN or Grigs will be gone by our next opening night. Probably both. My guess is Grigs will be in the NHL next year. Nolan won't be. I have confidence in Murray that he will be making the decision on Grigs not Nolan. I still am not sure about Grigs. He has not shown much. We can't argue that. I am fine if Murray adds him to a deal or if he comes back next year and gets another shot. If so, it will be time to put up shut up though. No more excuses.

When Murray made the comment that if he wanted to compete for a playoff spot he just needed to add some veterans etc. That kind of team is a TN team. Get the guys to work hard, sneak into the playoffs and see what happens. The kind of team Murray is building is not a TN type of team. Murray knows it. McEichel determines this. We draft one and a new era starts immediately. TN is gone early summer. No McEichel I think TN stays a little longer.

Pretty much how I feel. After the Boston game it became pretty clear to me that this wasn't happening. We still have hope and you never know what the lottery will bring. I just hope if we end up not getting McEichel that Murray does whatever is necessary to expedite this rebuild. Be creative with the pick, go after ROR,etc. I just don't want to add Strome/Hannifan/Marner and the later pick and call it a day. That will push us out 2 more years.

And their Asst. GM - the one and only Darcy Regier. Honestly, all you can do is shake your head and laugh. Did we expect anything different?? Who would have thought that the most talked about and anticipated two games in the last god knows how many years would be under these conditions? Good times!!

Looking forward to seeing our 4-5 guys that will be here next year play well. Hoping the other 15 that will be doing multiple different occupations next year enjoy some late season wins. Never been a big Devil fan so would like to see 2pts by the good guys tonight. I think McEichel is overrated. After thinking about the risk of one of them getting injured and the entire team being built around them it convinced me that I think we are better off we with Hannifan or Strome. Hell, if we really get hot we might be able to move all the way up to 5th. Crouse? That would be good. Yep I have turned a new Leaf and it feels good. Go Sabres!!!!! -
I just find it very amusing how some of you talk out of both sides of your ass. Depending on what thread you are in or who is your running mate in a disagreement is what you decide to go with. I simply stated I want to lose. Some of you stated you wanted to win. That was it. How is that insufferable? I don't recall lashing out at anyone. If I did it was no worse than the non-tankers have done to others. So whatever man. I am over this. I think Naulter has the right idea. Just isn't worth all the bickering and little clicks anymore.
