Terry Pegula is a savior to Buffalo sports. There is no two ways about that and everyone should be forever grateful. That being said he has made mistakes. He would be the first person to admit it. I also think that he does not look at himself as having a lifelong free pass from scrutiny just because he is a savior. Second guessing and criticism from the fans comes with the territory of being an owner. Pretty sure he has the backbone to handle it. What encourages me is he seems to be willing to learn from his mistakes. He wants to win. It is not an investment for him. The Bills and Sabres are his passion. I have confidence that in the end he will do whatever it takes to make it happen. There will be bumps in the road but we are in good hands.

I think Nolan wanted to be fired. Probably made it next to impossible for Murray to deal with him. From the day PLF resigned I think it has been totally about Nolan realizing that this is probably his last NHL paycheck. If he was a hot commodity he walks the same day PLF did. That is why this was a disaster waiting to happen.

They will kick the tires on Babcock but this will end up being Richardson. He will be a first time coach so Murray will have the comfort level of being able to 100% call all the shots. Babcock has 100 times more credibility as a coach that Murray has as a GM. No way he comes in here as Murray's bitch.

I get the impression that Murray is going to pick who he wants to pick - regardless of his scouts recommendations. I doubt he let Devine talk him into anything.

I think you make a fair point but it is far too early to judge Murray either way. Some on here have put him up on a pedestal with absolutely no merit (kind of tired of the Getzlaf/Perry thing). I think we give him through next year and then he is free game. At this point I am not sure if he has done enough with what he walked into but time will tell.

If we had to beat Columbus and Pitt for a playoff spot we would all be very worried. We got this.

Yep. We have nowhere to go but up from here. As much as I am looking forward to the possibility (I will not jinx it by not including possibility) of McEichel I am looking just as forward to everyone from management to the fans knowing that this is it. No more tanking. No more accepting (and hoping for) last place finishes. That excites me as much as the thought of any one player coming here.

In a normal situation it would sound awesome. Nothing about this season is normal so that 2% is going to keep me on edge.

Seems that way. To some of us Phil Housley, Dave Andreychuck, Darren Puppa, Adam Creighton, and the rest of the 1987 team doesn't seem too long ago. That was also the year Dark was born. That is fine. You don't need to be here from Day 1 to be a fan. However, you better sure as hell not tell me what kind of fan I am or should be. And definitely don't tell me to find my entertainment elsewhere. It is ignorant. Mike Ramsay, Christian Ruutu, Ray Sheppard, Richie Dunn, Pierre Turgeon, etc. I was just looking at that roster. My god time flies.

I know I know. We can always resort to those tactics. You have been very upfront with your opinions that many feel entitled. Is it that hard to take the time to put out a well thought post as to why you feel that way? Maybe it would actually have merit and some of us could understand your rationale. But to just continuously throw out one or two line jabs isn't giving your opinion any weight. We can do this without fighting. Just post an educated response as to why we feel this way. I am smart and you are dumb doesn't cut it.

It is simply the fact that for 157 games they could care less. All of a sudden some fans "disrespect" them and they decide to play the last 7 like it is the Cup finals. They have openly come out and said it. That is the part that is . If most of these guys played hard since game 1 we wouldn't be in this position. And I would be totally fine with that.

Please tell us what it is all about Dark since you seem to feel that pissed off fans are in the wrong here. What are we not getting that you are? Probably the most ignorant post somebody can make on here is when they go all "life priority and perspective" crap. This is a Sabres forum. We discuss the Sabres. For many it is an escape from all the other daily crap we all deal with. You've been around here for awhile MattPie. You usually have some good insight and opinions. I think if we screw this up not caring is going to become much easier. These last two years have caused a disconnect. When you are rooting for Phil Kessell to score you know things are not right.

Yeah this latest news that he had a setback and can't work out is very troubling. The last thing I am is a doctor but this sounds serious.
