Relax it was a joke. Like most on here I do not take it very seriously. Quite honestly I could care less if a thread is locked or not. I find this forum a diversion from a long day at work, screaming kids, or frustrating hockey. I understand your position as well as the mods for having to keep this somewhat under control. The last thing you need to do is let this place get to stiff. Feel free to suspend me, ban me or whatever you feel is necessary. The truth is for the last 6 months you've been one of the most sarcastic and snide posters on here. You have an ever growing tendency to act like you are above your posters. There now you have a reason to give me s***.

I have had a really bad day. All these locked threads is just really taking a toll. I hope this one makes it through the day.
-
Just wondering what constitutes locking a thread. Trying to keep up with the rules around here can be a challenge so if SDS, chz, or nfreeman can explain it might help with future threads. Thanks

There is no place in sports for purposeful injury. I also feel, that as a fan, we should not get our jollies off because one of our opponents star players gets hurt. Injuries are part of the game. Sometimes they hurt you and sometimes they benefit you. Wishing for a guy to get hurt is a different story. Being HAPPY an 18 year old kid who is going to be nothing short of a superstar got hurt is pathetic. In all honesty some of the posts in here today were kind of embarrassing.

It is scary how badly some of you really want to win a Cup.

I feel I am a pretty big sports fan. Just can't get myself to the point of wishing injury on a player.

I don't agree with that. If Eichel's game improves because McDavid isn't playing and racking up points then he isn't the player I want leading this organization for the next 15 years. I want Eichel seeing what McDavid is doing in Edmonton and raise his game because of it. That is the whimp way out. The best thing Eichel can do is worry about himself. He is not McDavid and never will be. That isn't a knock on Eichel - they are just different players. If he worries about getting into a personal points race with McDavid odds are he will loose every year - unless McDavid gets hurt and nobody should truly want that.

That was my first thought. It was one of those moments when you realize how quickly it can end for these guys. All 3 of the guys that went into those boards are very fortunate.
-
I know that is being sarcastic (at least I hope so) - but this a shame. That kid is electric and probably the closest thing we will see to Gretzky in a long time. I love Eichel and he will be great for this organization, however, McDavid is another level (or more). He had a legit chance to lead the league in points. He already was at a ppg and getting better every night. Also, I was watching that game when it happened. He was hurt, everyone knew it, but he skated to the bench and sat there until the period ended. Then he went to the locker room. Not sure why but it showed a level of toughness that his teammates had to notice.

The Sabres Culture: Losing is no longer acceptable
sicknfla replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
That is why Gionta held the meeting. Nipped it nice and early and said what happened the last two years is not happening again. The results may take time but you can see the culture has changed. They are playing with a passion. That was my biggest concern the last few years with the young guys - how much is this loosing is expected ( and wanted) hurting their development.- 18 replies

This was a great trade. I will give Murray that much. Not only is ROR by far the best player in the deal he also takes a TON of pressure off Eichel. The fact he is only 24 is hard to believe. He looks like the clear veteran leader out there.
-
That's the one I was looking for. :)
-
Yeah a few teams will be in full tank mode by then. Great late season acquisition.
-
Waaayyyy to early but just saying we again a get a top pick (or even #1 overall) I would hope Murray looked long and hard at every offer he got. A top 3 pick traded for the right pieces could take this team to the next level real quickly.
-
IMO, he isn't trading for a #1 goalie. If he trades it will be a depth goalie to help ride it out until Lehner gets back. This team isn't going to the playoffs and I don't think Murray ever planned for it to. He will let Lehner get healthy and give him the remaining 50 or so games. If Lehner shows he may not be a #1 then Murray may look for another possible #1. As much as this sucks I just don't think he should make a panic move.
-
I know. I f'd that one up.
-
I guess that is true...lol. Better way to put it is top 5 pick.
-
And THAT is the concerning part. His body of work prior to the concussion and now the ankle was very suspect. To expect this guy to come back - after damn near a year of not playing - and to be better than the average to below average GT he has been to this point is pretty unrealistic. Mark this down right now - if Murray stays status quo with his current GT'ing ( including a healthy Lehner) we are in the lottery.

Absolutely. I think he will in due time . A little bit of pressing going on right now. This is the first time in his career he is not dominating and I think it is in his head a little. Also, don't think for a minute he isn't aware what his counterpart in Edmonton is doing. All part of the maturing process.- 495 replies

After reading your post I have a better understanding where your coming from. I just think with the current group the more shots the better. As we start to gel maybe we can get a little more selective. The truth of the matter is we still are not an overly talented group - especially with Kane and Ennis out. It isn't just our goalie. Our D is also weak. Both defensively and offensively. And i don't think we could classify ourselves as scoring a lot just yet. The last two games we have 7 goals so that is better. Prior to that we were still under 2 per game i believe.- 495 replies

I don't buy into that theory. All season we have been talking about puck luck. How it just isn't bouncing our way. My guess, again, is the coaching staff wants the puck put on net. Deflections, rebounds, etc can only come into play if the puck is put on net. How often in the playoffs do you hear the announcer say "just put the puck on the net - good things happen when you put the puck on net" , etc.etc. I have never in my life heard anyone discuss " we have too many shots on goal".- 495 replies

We put over 50 shots on goal and people complain where they came from. We get 22 and people complain we don't shoot enough. Crazy stuff around here. Pretty sure DB told the guys you have a new goalie and shoot from anywhere. Eichel probably doing as told. Should we add Eichel to our every growing "he will be just fine" list? When you have D and goaltending like this team has you have to shoot and shoot often. Hope some lucky goals go in. Realistically, it is the only chance we have until Lehner comes back and hopefully proves he is more than the average goalie he has been up to this point in his career.- 495 replies

What exactly is the injury?
