So things are moving forward with the awesome little Canadian company that makes apps for the NHL... and then my coworker reminded me I may have an NDA problem with my bosses here, that I may not legally be allowed to make minigames for another company. They're out of town until next week so now I'm nervous... I WANT TO HAVE IT ALL :(

 Congrats and godspeed!

Oh honey, we're too poor and busy for anything that would relate to any little announcements haha

AND there's new Star Wars coming out. Just don't leave me to go to someone's prom or something.

I am getting Lasik. Goodbye, s hit eyes, it's time to see. A couple weeks from now I'll wake up and be able to see something, anything, for the first time since I was like... 4 or 5. The only pain in the butt is wearing my glass from now until then. But man. I am so ready for this.

(OT) The Supermoon Eclipse, Live SabreSpace coverage
josie replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
Saw it beginning in the late afternoon sky on our way to hockey. Was pretty much gone by the time we left. But thanks, facebook, for providing so many fuzzy blurry pictures of a glowy spot in the sky. Dude. So weird. There were a lot, but the clearest and funniest one was that I was helping the Trailer Park Boys with their new ice cream parlour/gift shop and trying to keep them under control. -
No, not a better job- I really love what they're doing. It's good clean vector work. Simple style, well organized. It's not something I do a lot of, but would love to learn. I'd be pretty happy going into production mode for them.

Sooo apparently there's a little app called Club Sabres- there's one for the Bills, too. I discovered it last night. I looked up the company that makes it. And now I have a new dream job. Doing cute art of hockey players for an app company seemingly run by women that is situated in British Columbia? It's like a marriage of the work I do already and the things I love! Too bad they're not hiring artists. Gonna poke at 'em anyways. Here's their site: https://www.justbefriends.net/

 d4rk sometimes smells about as good as an Uruk-Hai birthed from a festering mudpit in the bowels of Isengard... Love you, honey. And hey, I dig beards, I guess Gimli/Gandalf/Saruman aren't totally out of older/senile future me's league

I got d4rk to watch them for the first time a few months back. As time goes on, it holds up nicely, but I could pretty easily skip all the "pained Elijah Wood expressions" as he and Sam stare at each other meaningfully while wandering in the wilderness for hours. Riders of Rohan are the coolest. Most of the riders in those segments were people from Aus/NZ who were told to come and be extras with their horses. Crazy amounts of preparation for the mass crowd rides- comb the fields so no stone gets tripped over. When LotR first came out, I was all about Legolas. All us middle school girls squealing over clean perfect elf boy. I watch it now, and it's all gritty hairy Viggo, baby. So, does that mean in another 10-15 years I'll suddenly have a thing for Gimli? God help me.

I've never seen it either please don't kill me

Yeah, same here. It seems unless I'm scheduled to be there, like a class situation, I'm reaaaallly good at talking myself out of it. I guess this is why people have gym buddies.

Y'all are inspirational. That cycle ball stuff is awesome. And to those of you who run, I tip my hat. I don't wear a hat, but, close enough. I know it's a cop out but I wish I had more time/wish I was a better morning person. I am at the point where in order to improve/break the plateaus in both of my physical activities, I need to train. I need to drop some extra weight/increase flexibility for aerials and strengthen my legs/increase stamina for hockey. I just moved up a level in both... and really need to get running again. I'm just so damn tired working 3 jobs. For the first time in my life I have upper body strength- the circus stuff has made a difference in my hockey stick handling/shots too. It's neat, but I'm pretty weak/slow otherwise. I'm motivated by guilt more than anything. I've tried all the "leave your workout gear out in the morning" and even managed to get a routine going for a while of running in the morning half the week and night the other half. Then I got off rhythm and damn, I can't run a mile to save my life. How do y'all do it? I guess I lack willpower/running ability. I get discouraged easily.

Moved up a level in hockey yesterday... I fit right in. It's so nice playing with all my old friends again. It's just intermediate zamboni league at Thomas Creek in Fairport but I feel like I'll improve more here. I can keep up in all the drills and throughout the game. For the first time in awhile I was having so much fun on the ice. Far cry from my brief stint in beer league. So excited :)

I just wanna say I think it's awesome you guys are doing this. Tell me all about it afterwards :)

Digital. I'm using gouache brushes so it looks more traditional. Found the picture of him laughing on Getty- it's from 2011 but hey, it's him. One of these days I'll actually get back to painting with real paint...

tgif. I started a new portrait last night, this time of Marcell Dareus. I think I'm going to do a whole bunch of current Bills players, then some Beauts and Sabres. So really, all I want to do is go home to some beers and finish that this weekend.

"on fleek", the Brad Marchand of trendy youthspeak terms. Ed Hardy bedazzled clothing, the Brad Marchand of bro wear. Tribal back tattoos entwined in barbed wire motifs, the Brad Marchand of self expression.

Yeah I hear ya. Breakfast is boring cheerio like wegmans brand cereal, lunch is pbj and pretzles, dinner is 2 eggs, maybe a frozen vegetarian sausage patty thing if I'm being fancy. Dinner last night was toast.

All this talk of skin cancer makes me feel I should make a PSA- if you haven't or don't, do yourself a favor and get a full body skin check. Skin cancer is sneaky. Both of my grandmothers died of it because it was in odd places like the navel and between the toes- places no one thinks to look. I had a nevus sebaceous growth on the back of my scalp that was ignored from birth until I was about 14- had that sucker cut off/stapled my head back together, have had a few pre cancerous moles removed since. Get that stuff checked. Y'all are worth it.

haha that's perfectly fine. He can eat all the crap he wants, as long as he doesn't kill his grease quota for the week so we can still eat something bad for us on the weekend.
